The only thing that could get young Russian males to sign up for the armed forces would be large scale economic strife, where the economy collapses and they just want their 3 square meals. Some may be pressured into it to provide a wage to service their families.
If mines and factories start shutting down in the East, that's where they may get their numbers.
If I remember rightly, he got hauled over the coals for that speech.....and had to amend it drastically in a follow up interview.

I don’t know if he still is, but that clip is from a few months back. He was still alive a few days later though, when he was back on the very same show within a week singing a very different tune. No way the Kremlin was letting that go unanswered!

The Ukrainians are at one huge disadvantage if it comes to a siege though, their humanity. They will now demolish their own city, indiscriminantly murdering innocent civilians like the Russians. But they will Garner a lot more local support and partizans, so that might be their best route.

Yes, there are thousands of phone calls going back to Russia, telling the truth. They also have VPN. So they know the score and won't be lining up to register. Another item is how is he going to arm them? And at the rate ammo depos are exploding there may be some truth in the assertions that the Russians are running out of ammo.

The war was lost by Russia several months ago tge difficulty now is wether Putin will pull the plug or not. If Ukrainians are determined on taking back Crimeia than a war of annihilation is coming and many more will die on both sides.

The noise about the Kherson counterattack seems to have caused one thing at least: Russia moved troops from the Donbas to reinforce the area - which helped to stall the offensive in the east. But it's hard to see how Ukraine can take back any territory, unless Russia just pulls back their troops.

And then you have posters on here claiming that the sanctions are a failure , Russia is still thriving, Ruble one of the strongest currency's etc. etc. Its not thriving, far from it. People are saying that come winter, the west will suffer. Yes, it will, but so will Russians, and much worse. I can tell you one thing. Russian winters are something else..
