Northern Rock 37b
Anglo 34b
Northern Rock doesn't even get mentioned by most people yet cost more than Anglo did in the crash
What do you think about the regulator in the UK?
Nice try that bank did not get a bail out. It also filed for Bankruptcy words are important it seems.
Don't live in the UK so not really for me to comment. I was in Ireland when the bank caused the crash. Affected the entire economy and country need a bailout.
Start with this.
I hope that you did not think that she was cooking food in the bedroom.
The ‘bank’ did not cause the ‘crash’.
Read up a bit about the ‘crash’ in 2008.
You can start here if you want: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Financial_crisis_of_2007–2008
It was a Global Financial Crisis.
did not read the entire thing searched for keywords. Food, Cooking, Meals nothing. I assume they went to cafe or takeaways. unless you can provide a correction.
I suggest you do a little bit of research into how the crash happened. Yes Anglo up to a lot of dodgy dealing but it was event outside of Ireland which brought the whole thing down.
Including Lehmans pulling 3-400m out of Anglo before it went bang!!!
Revisionism of it's finest. Who else got a bail out at time. all the others were after like of greece.
Assumption is the mother of all f… ups.
It is never a good idea to assume.
Just because you think something, does not make it so.
Your assuming they are fed. So on you to provide the facts I can wait.
you don’t seem to understand what happened in 2007 -2008, not just in ireland but in the entire World
Also why Ireland had to bring in the IMF.
Good starting point is the link provided above by the other poster
It’s actually interesting to read and we should make sure we know why so it doesn’t repeat again
So it's just a coincidence that the bail out cost was pretty much the same as the bank failure ? 67.5 billion. I don't think anyone has suggested there was not a crash. But the bank going pop was the last straw.
And I'm just using your post as a convenient place to share the details of the story which many, including me, are probably quite unaware of.
This is a clear example of perpetual whinging, moaning, hand-wringing and government-blaming.
DBS is a private college that withdrew its application for recognition. Most obvious explanation is that they knew they wouldn't meet the standards. If they had been let on the register, guess which posters would have been on here complaining about lax regulation or government pandering to private sector interests.
This is an example of government regulation working. Standards weren't adhered to by the private sector and they don't get approval. Exactly what you are looking for in relation to mica etc.
In your rush to have a go you missed were I state all that information. Its like you are laying in wait looking for a chance to have a go. Thats strange behaviour IMO.
Harris was approached and he rightly said it wasn't connected to his office. I'm asking is there no regulation for setting up a not fit for purpose 'degree' course? He said he'd look into it. I was pondering what he might do if anything. Instead of laying in wait maybe join the discussion, just a thought.
You're the one whinging because someone was mildly critical of a FG government. **** happens Blanch.
This Troy situation is beginning to make the Cowen government look like a well-run organisation. Varadkar was made to look a chump when he defended Troy. The story snowballed from there. Martin has also defended Troy and The Ditch is dripfeeding revelations. Troy's situation has now damaged the credibility of Varadkar and Martin. Now, there are talks that 2 FF TDs want Troy to resign. The stability of of the goverment could become an issue if it isn't dealt with quickly.

It would warm the cockles
We will see at the next election
All those years of brainwashing the public about how the property bubble bursting was the fault of Lehmans Brothers bank failing and this happens. It is beginning to highlight the weaknesses of Martin as leader of FF and it would not be surprising to see a lot of angry FFers at its upcoming think-in in Mullingar. And if there are any opinion polls before then that show FF losing support, there will be ructions.
Never ceases to amaze how they can’t get in front of anything and when they try they end up backing toxicity.
Leo’s ‘top class’ and Micheál’s ‘he’s a very effective TD’ will haunt them until polling day.
Yep. If they don't deal with this problem quickly, polling day could be a lot closer than they expect. They used to have good media people would could easily spin things. Varadkar is a plonker who always says stupid things. Martin is a lot more cagey and this has made him look bad. He's on borrowed time as the leader of FF as it is and the knives are probably being sharpened to see who succeeds him.
It seems like Leo is trolling the online mob at the moment with plenty of video's for them to lose the plot.
If it is his plan it is actually a very good one. No idea if it is of course. All Leo has to do is upload videos of standard TD stuff and then sit back watching the mob lose the plot over it.
Meanwhile people who want to see what he is talking about will see the comments. As a lot of us are aware nobody should be subjected to the online abuse that is happening from the mob. NOBODY.
Will be an easy way to get back some votes 👍️
If he is using his work account it's not a good look trolling private citizens and voters. Will just show complete arrogance and contempt. Not good qualities in a person.
Whatever Leo's doing it's not working terribly well not Trending at all , guess who is & Number 1 😏

Not sure what that has to do with politics, better to discuss on soccer forum
Its like they are trying to get on future Reeling in the Years episodes for making foolish statements.
Yes it will not wash with the "People who get up early" types.
On the other hand
"Dole cheats cheat us all" and "White collar crime is not victimless" "New politics" those just seem to be sound bites that don't cover some. 🙃
