New thread for the new season
Where did you hear that from?
Gilbert is still with Clontarf
Apologies, only heard it through the Whatsapp grapevine.
Belfast Harlequins appear to be signing a new player nearly every second day, judging by their social media.
Also heard Nenagh have recruited a number of coaches and players from Young Munster for the season ahead.
yeah i know colm skehan the cookies prop is going to them not to play tho but to coach. he had to retire through injury i think. dunno who else is gone to them from munsters tho
Derek Corcoran back as head coach. colm is s&c. James Hickey ex shannon and thomond forwards. donal fogarty former nenagh player and coach shannon 20s last few years is backs coach
few players have moved to them as well i believe. wont know more until charity cup starts in few weeks
That National 1 League side Rams beat Lansdowne 31-10 last night
Anyone in at it or have the Lansdowne team? We play them tomorrow
No actual Lansdowne team was announced - it was a squad of 30 who all got game time. Lansdowne didn't have a recognised 10 and were short at scrumhalf as well. Was a good game. Score line probably flatters Rams a little bit as they had a couple of late breakaway tries
Gotcha, was more just curious to see what their level is compared to the side Lansdowne had out
Not that it overly matters in a pre season friendly.
Good win today in stupidly hot weather.
Mix of young lads, J1s and senior lads like Harrison Brewer and Adam LaGrue playing
Pints then in clubhouse. Can't wait for AIL
was looking everywhere for the stream to the lansdowne rams game myself as there was a tweet about it on twitter cant find it tho. I take it nure had a mixed bag team out and not necessarily one that would be named business end of the season given i seen a few away like jordan in london and a few others etc etc?
Oh defo - pure mixed bag. Harrison Brewer, Luke Clohessy, Levi Vaughan and Adam LaGrue only real starters from last season, well and Sam Dardis if he ever focused fully on it. Loads of lads away, weddings and so on
Two lads from my side J3/J4s on bench and some of the u20s, at 9 and 12
Think teamsheet on twitter if interested.
Was curious on Lansdowne team sheet as would be able to contrast etc, but so early in season too
Have heard Marys have recruited well - anyone any news there ?
No news on Marys yet, apologies.
Brendan McSorley signing for Kilkenny from Banbridge. Great player and huge coup for Kilkenny in the junior ranks.
good to see players with AIL experience return to their home/original clubs.. very good signing for Kilkenny
yeah was wondering myself the type of team they put out. didnt get to the lansdowne game myself with work etc etc but stainalert fairly spot on about what he was saying the team they put out. from what i heard renoylds played 10 and interesting given he hasnt played there before from what i know....but gone after a short while with a hamstring injury from what i heard thats about it
He's a super player. I used to live with a lad who was on Barnhall senior squad and he used to say he was unreal. Incredible signing for a Junior Side.
Reynolds the young winger lad?
Have heard Lansdowne have a new lock but no idea on name (other than the Devin Toner stuff)
What Devin Toner stuff?
That he's going to play for Lansdowne this season
No definitely not happening - think he is looking forward to a very well earned break
yeah thats him hes been playing 2/3 seasons with them now the one that was cut off by lockdowns etc etc been his first season with them
Dave McCarthy from Garryowen has moved to Blackrock

Lansdowne hammered Bective 66-5 in the Colm O'Shea cup on Friday night
Kilkenny conceded to us
No senior games so wonder did Lansdowne field any/many of their senior players against Bective then.
Any senior friendly results?
Banbridge played Ayr RFC from Scotland and won 36-7
Harlequins beat Malone 19-14
Leinster Senior League kicks off this weekend

I think they had one or two, like Peter Hastie who was back from travelling. But from what I know it was more their Metro 1 side.
I'm sure the Lansdowne lads would know better
