well they could have been good but they cheaped out on the ingredients by using a cheese sauce. The chips themselves were decent but if it was an attempt to copy Subways meatball marinara then it failed
Mature cheddar cheese on thick slice of toasted sourdough with the carmelised onion relish. Delicious.
Has anybody bought the ultralight carry on suitcase? Think its 29.99.
Would do a job as a carry on 10kg bag.
Just wondering about the quality.
Thanks
Batteries are on sale Thursday.
Shock price of skin on fries in Aldi - €2.49 now. No thanks
Said the same to my wife last week, we haven't bought them in a few months but fancied them. That's a serious price rise.
I had them in the basket and put them back 👍
culchie loves them ;)
ah here thats ridiculous, they only went up to 2.39 about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Their other frozen fries havent seen anything like the increases the skin on ones have.
Have noticed as well stewing beef is never on offer any more either, it used to be discounted around once a month on the Super 6 meats but hasnt been discounted in around 3 months now
Explain that one Bassey?? 🤔
Aldi pricing can vary from store to store. Can easily be +- 10%, it's all down to the manager.
You might find any given item cheaper in another Aldi nearby. Or dearer of course.
Is there a cheaper version elsewhere?
Not true, all pricing comes from head office so automatically changed at the till, only reason i can think of if prices are different is if stores haven't changed prices on the price card but you will be charged different at the till
special buys are the only things managers can reduce but this has to be done maually at the till
You sure? I always shopped in two Aldis in Waterford years ago and one bottle of wine I got for my housemate was always 50c dearer in one than the other. The wine wasn't a special and this went on for years.
I enquired about it and was told that the area manager is picked from the store managers. Hence the incentive for an individual manager to bump up the price if he felt the item would still sell.
The Cajun/peri peri fries are just as nice imo, and cheaper.
Skin on fries are £1.59 in the UK. Pure price gouging for us Irish customers.

Thats what I was thinkng as well as Id say the skin on are the most popular type and they've risen in price way above all the other frozen fries which are all still below 2 euro a bag AFAIK. They have fries there with additional ingredients like beef dripping but they are still cheaper than the skin on ones whereas they used to be similar enough in price. Its hard to justify that as anything other than price gouging imo, i mean producing fries with their skin still on must be even cheaper for the production process
Lidl have their own version but I had it a month ago when it was on special and they just arent as nice as the Aldi version
My God people, buy a few potatoes! ;)
Is there yet any canned tuna steak in the Cork City store?
Buy a rod, my god people!!! 😜
Saw these back in stock 59c each. Used to be 29 if I remember correctly
Got a couple of those mini pizza garlic breads that come in the Dominos style box last night, pricey I thought at €2 a pop but went down well with a couple of beers. They had other wee pizza's for 49c I think they were but didn't get them, has anyone tried those?
On the yoghurts they did seem to have stock problems for a while there, they didn't have the 8 pack of the fat free ones I usually bought for €2. Back in stock now for €2.79 nice 40% hike.
yes tryed the small pizzas quite tasteless i taught.
VAT? Since Brexit maybe?
Tried to get maris piper potatoes in two different branches of Aldi today and neither had them in stock.
Are they out of season / stock everywhere?
I settled for roosters in the end, but I prefer maris pipers for my roasties. :(
There are Iceland's version. I have no idea what they are like, but I have been informed on more than one occasion that their Hash Brown Fries knock all others out of the park, so if they don't beat them, they should equal them.

Can't link properly on Iceland site which seems a bit odd. But both are on that page.
They’re tasteless muck
Should be in season. Most if not all Maris are imported from GB so possible stock delays
How much were these skin on fries this time last year?
€2.50 for a Kg of chips doesn't seem crazy to me. Potatoes are often around €2 per Kg to buy.
A 50g packet of crisps costs well over a euro, now.
We have been spoiled by incredibly cheap food for decades. We are going to have to get used to spending more of our income on food, I think.
The bags are 800g (just checked mine in the freezer!).
But overall I agree with your post.
