Who are these military experts?
I want Russian forces wiped out by NATO if he does that. It is a direct attack on us all. It's time for the west to grow a set and stop assessing these Russian creatures.
Big numbers on paper, but unfortunately as we all well know, they are a spent force they have lost more men , equipment, aircraft in the last few months than they lost in 10 years in Afghanistan ,yet America and Nato lost less men , equipment and aircraft , vehicles in 20 years fighting daily between Iraq and Afghanistan.
Russia are nothing but a damp paper tiger
What reports?
I live in Finalnd, i have known a lot of russians over the years have traveled there many times
If they say they have 400,000 professional soldiers, its probabaly more like 50,000
You cant even imagine the bullshit and lies they believe
And its kind of weird they haven't used this 400,000 professional soldiers yet
The whole country is built on a lie
There is no secret army to come
They have already thrown there best at this
To be fair it's not them who is saying it.
"Of this total, Russia is listed as having just under 70 million people available for military service, with just under 47 million who are deemed fit for service. It has 850,000 active personnel and 250,000 in reserve, for a total of 1,350,000, according to Global Firepower, while the IISS's Military Balance estimates Russia's active personnel strength to be 900,000.
The CIA World Factbook also gives figures of 200,000 to 250,000 Federal National Guard (i.e .reservists) and 850,000 full-time military personnel, which it breaks down into 375,000 ground troops, of which 40,000 are airborne; 150,000 in the Russian Navy; 160,000 Aerospace Forces; 160,000 Strategic Rocket Forces and approximately 90,000 other uniformed forces, including 20,000 special operations forces"
So where are all of these troops and equipment? Putin will have to declare war on Ukraine and send the lot in but it could be political suicide. Or since its Russia political murder!
Just found this so far:
The CIA world fact book.
Russia has only used a very small percentage of its manpower
What, in God's green land, does "very small percentage" even mean ???
" Ah shure throw me out a few spuds there, it's for the CIA "
With that amount of personnel they should be winning this war
Why are they recruiting in prison's
Ukraine have been very careful since this war started not to strike too deep into Russia. How often has it been commented on this thread about Ukrainian restraint at not hitting out even in anger at targets deeper inside Russia. The risk of triggering a full Russian mobilisation is probably something they did not want to contemplate. I wonder has that changed now with these crimea attacks. Has Ukraine/the west deemed that a full Russian mobilisation is no longer something to be feared and will hasten the end of the war? That bringing wartime hardship to Moscow and st Petersburg etc is the only way to bring about the end.
200,000 troops involved in the initial invasion.
Over 1 million are available not including reservists.
A small percentage
As for the rest of your bizarre comment. - ok?
Putin would need to declare war on Ukraine.
Currently it is only some horseshite "special operation " .
It's propaganda to stop Russian citizens turning against an illegal, immoral and unjust invasion of its neighbour.
If Russia declared war and sent everything and everyone from special forces to reservists they would overwhelm Ukraine's defence by sheer numbers
Bizarre my arse, you know exactly what I meant.
Would they ?
They have numbers on paper, do the other soldiers have equipment, basic food supplies, basic training, basic sobriety.
Multiple posters have offered explanations to your question. You just keep repeating the question. Bizarre?
Ok so the Russians have the troops to win the war but they cant use them because they might hurt the feelings of the Russian public if they declared open war
Have you ever spoken to a real Russian in all your life
I doubt it
That was definitely the case up to this point a full Russian mobilisation and declaration of war would mean the end of Ukraine. But something has changed in the last few weeks. It’s like the Ukrainians no longer have that concern.
All on paper but in reality.
They had a modern vanguard of about 70,000 troops they could mobilese in about a week, for years the experts had said that it would take 5 or so days from Russian troops to go from Moscow to Berlin,
Meanwhile 175 days later in Ukraine Russian forces have lost all Advantages and are slowly getting cut off from supplies and supports ,all while Ukraine is getting stronger and pushing harder against the orcs
This is true maybe not. Estimates vary wildy and I don't think anyone should believe what Russia says either!
Most reports I saw recently said the war is at stalemate so its inevitable that the invading force changes tactics. Ukraine can only continue to defend but if Russia increases soldier and therefore equipment numbers then you would imagine something happening
According to Wikipedia, Russian Ground Forces (active duty) number 280,000
All the more reason for Putin to act fast. His only advantage is numbers he will use them. The West will send even more support and putin will turn off the gas to Germany and Europe for winter.
You would imagine behind the scenes different countries intelligence services are working non stop to try and rise a coup and dissent in Russia but Putin has such a grip its hard to see anything happen from inside Russia.
Ok think about this, they don't have any more troops, there kidnaping fathers picking up there their kids from nursery to force into there army
There recruiting from prison's
What cant you understand from this
Nobody wants to die for them, they all know the game is up
There is no super army waiting in the wings to save them, what they have is what they have
...
But that's simply untrue
It's widely known and accepted that Russian numbers are much higher.
A military of 200,000 (the invading forcesize) would only be equivalent to a much much smaller country. You yourself know Russias military history , its aggressive nature and its size.
Disagree with me if you want but don't argue something so obviously untrue.
Just google worlds largest military lists and see form yourself where every single website puts them .
Let me know what you find
It doesn’t make sense. Even if they just used 100 thousand of these at a part of Ukraine will low numbers of defenders they could take a lot of territory. If what you are saying is true they are intentionally performing poorly. What would be the point?
What about guns? Will they bring knives to the gunfight?
Wait I know this one. The second wave pick up the gun of the soldiers in the first wave who were shot down.
So why is the great Russian empire reduced to recruiting from Russian prison's and kidnapping people of the street to serve
Do the real 400,000 soldiers need a break or something
Creating atrocities probably takes it out of you
That's what iv been saying! It was a terrible decision based on bad military intelligence. He thought the Ukrainians would roll over and sold it to the Russian public as a "special operation" rather than declaring war.
It's a land grab of Eastern Ukraine similar to Crimea . Now that its a stalemate he will ramp up numbers and occupy Eastern Ukraine this winter.
What happens then? Will the West keep sending money to Ukraine? Will the west be able to endure continued and increased inflation? We all have heard how.much energy is expected to cost this winter.
He could still annex Eastern Ukraine
