Seeing as Elton has now rescheduled his Dublin gigs, might be useful to start a 2023 thread as others might start popping up.
The Commitments - 7th - 19th February (Olympia Theatre)
Elton John - 28th/29th March (3Arena)
They're not hanging about with the summer announcements so
All the big summer shows will be announced by halloween/late November.
Like I said they would, Coldplay have Europe dates for 2023. Some of the cities are announced in their new music video but no Dublin yet. I’m sure it’s happening though.
It may just be a coincidence but radio nova shared a through back Thursday post of Coldplay in Croker a few years ago. I'd guess for Slane if they are announced or Dublin/Galway/Belfast shows?
Galway?
Didn't Ed sheeran play at semple stadium in Galway before? Tbh was just an example of the stadiums they could do if it's not just one big show?
Semple is Tipp
I think Coldplay have a thing now about doing a few nights in one spot, and having thousands of people travel rather than them, because it's greener
There were those rumours recently that U2 had booked Croke Park, then it was revealed it wasn't them but another act have...
...2+2=7 😋
Clearly my Irish geography is worse than I thought 😂😂😂😂
Muse confirmed 4 outdoor shows in June with 3/4 dates supported by Royal Blood
Yeah maybe an Irish date be added at a later date
Would they be popular enough for Slane ?
Maybe the Aviva or rds could be a safer bet?
Saw that Coldplay put up a teaser for a show in the Principality Stadium Cardiff
Probably another leg of the tour for 2023.
Yes. Cardiff, Manchester, Italy, Amsterdam, Zurich, Barcelona, Denmark all announced. Still holding out hope for Dublin.
Coldplay are all about their light show now aswell, It was great in Croke, don’t think it would be as good in Slane.
First batch of dates for 2023 have been announced but no irish dates. They did say more dates coming soon 🤞
id say they could be doing slane, as far as i remember slane usually do their own announcement?
Read a comment from Mountcharles last year saying Slane 2023 headliner was booked for May or June.
That ties in at least with the dates Coldplay are playing in the UK.
If there is an Irish date, it would be after Cardiff, there is a big gap until the next show.
It could be Croke Park as well, they would easily fill 2 to 3 there.
I was looking at their world tour list for 2022, and there is a large stadium called River Plate in Argentina, and they are doing 10 nights there, that has to be a run away record, even big bands like U2 have only ever done 3 nights max, at that stadium
Blur are allegedly reuniting for a Wembley gig according to the sun. Hopefully true with a date here.
Harry Styles is about to announce a Europe stadium tour. Aviva again?
Harry styles for Slane June 23rd 2023

Not suitable for Slane IMO
Didn’t expect slane.
Hopefully that means Coldplay will announce Croke if they are coming
Harry styles is playing in slane
Yeah some surprise there
Fairplay to him
Not suitable at Slane, with a largely younger female following, it'll be a logistical nightmare as a lot won't even be of age to drink not to mention being allowed bus it or walk it in! And in the middle of junior cert and leaving cert.
I have 2 avid fans here who saw him in Aviva, they'll be 16 and 14 then and unless I bring them, they won't be allowed go.
I'm going to look at the UK dates and get them for there.
Did not expect that
Damn Rammatein skipping Ireland again
I have a theory on this! So they have a gap in the schedule around the time of Download, who are having a big anniversary show next year. No UK dates announced either which is odd.
I reckon the weekend of Download, Rammstein will be over here for Belsonic. Would love to see a gig in the RDS/Marlay/Aviva but think that's wishful thinking. Has to be outdoor with the current stage set up anyways.
Saw them in Coventry this year and was genuinely the best show I've ever seen. Crossing fingers for a show here but if you're right, I'll get tickets for somewhere in Europe :)
Talk of the Stadium Tour (Crue,Leppard featuring Poison and Joan Jett) European run has slowed down with Brett Michaels recently coming out saying 'Poison will finish after the tour til 2025'. I was thinking maybe that would headline one of the days of download but who knows at this stage (pardon the pun)
With the cost of living the days of going to multiple concerts may be a thing of the past
