I am sure these types of forensic research's of TD's will suddenly stop as soon as the party they want is in place.....or have you seen anything to suggest otherwise?
He's Leo's junior minister.
As much as you have to prove your theory.
People more go after sitting ministers than opposition, because people are more interested in what sitting ministers get up to. Basic stuff BA.
So you made up most of the people not being interested.
Anyone can update wiki. I am sure this will set off a trend of sabotage on all TD's wiki's
How do I edit wiki pages?
This is one of the better one's done a few years ago
When his own party colleagues try to distance themselves from him and do not provide wholehearted support, it looks bad.
Regards...jmcc
Indeed they can and I wonder Robert be doing some editing in the dark of night.
Interesting to see all the papers now reporting on this Troy Kerfuffle 😉
It all looks bad regardless but he has done a big walk of shame and the next move is up to SIPO. That might be enough for him to disappear into his Junior job for a final few months as I suspect he is done after that. I am more curious about the CC side of all of this as it all looks really peculiar.
With his obvious expertise, it is surprising that he hasn't been made minister for housing. :) Paul Murphy/PBP does seem to be following up on the SIPO angle.
Yeah, for the second time. SIPO can also reject complaints and not move on to an investigation.
Yep. Interesting that it is a spokesperson for Martin making the comment rather than Martin himself.
He could be on his holliers! That's a confidence in minister comment.
Not in journalistic terms. This is the exact quote:
"A spokesperson for Taoiseach Micheál Martin said he “accepts and acknowledges Minister Troy’s apology, and welcomes his comprehensive statement to clarify the issues, and his amendments to the Register of Members’ Interests.” "
It doesn't say anything about having confidence in Troy and is hedging bets in case SIPO makes an adverse ruling. It is more of a CYA (Cover Your Arse) statement from a spokesperson rather than from Martin. What you don't see is Martin being interviewed about having confidence in Troy.
He was in Japan and had to Comment on the AIB Blindsided story to which, now that I think about it, Paschal hasn't exactly clarified. 🤔
Yet another unbacked up attempt to divert
Good point. Paschal never explained the AIB comms.
Agreed. It's needs to stop.
He whimpered something during a cosy interview on Morning Ireland about being on Government business at the time , I'd have thought if this was the case he'd have senior officials in toe , all of whom were aware of the decision a few days before the announcement 😏
Successive governments have made sure the standards watchdog is toothless. There is no other way to view it.
Pleased take the Troy stuff to the dedicated thread
I always admire your honesty is_that_so. A few posters could learn a lot from you.
11 years these cowboys have had, 11 YEARS.
We need to have ANOTHER go at hosuing is now the plan
I choked on my weetabix reading that this morning, it's had some reactions elsewhere, we need to have another Go 😳 seriously
Is this cowboy having a laugh? 11 years in government and the penny has finally dropped or so Leo would have us believe.
Why is he not being questioned on when he had his road to Damascus moment and why he thinks he is the person that can help fix housing alongside his government colleagues?
What can Leo do to change our minds?
'member during election 2020 debate when house prices came down 0.1% in Dublin in one month and he claimed the policies are already working and prices are coming down.
Prices are up like 25% since then.
We need to have another go at the ballot box, that's all.
to little to late, Sinn Fein will sort us out with the housing if we look after them in the election.
Who knows? Can they be any worse than what we have had since 2008?
To quote you: who knows? Time will tell.
But if I was the SF leaderette, I'd be keeping my scriptwriters very busy drawing up a long list of excuses - because if (when) they flop, I suspect that they'll be savaged by the media.
It sounds like he was having a think about it there. Good man.
They have not only failed, they've made it worse.
If he thinks their plans are working at all, he's deluded. I am fearful they'll double down to make things move quicker. He shouldn't be left to his own devices in any role. He's dangerous.
Its worrying that he thinks things are getting better (but too slowly).
The FG experiment at being young and trendy must come to an end. At least the old FG model was a more honest dislike of the Irish public.
Over a decade in power, and they've f**ked it up so badly that people will probably vote in Sinn Fein next time round. I mean, imagine how badly you have to f**k up for that to hppen.
And this was all signposted at the last electon. SF's huge improvement was basically down to one reason - housing. They've had 2 and a half years to focus on that one real issue, and you couldn't imagine a more comprehensive and spectacular failure.
