A few of the things they can't do
Covered by the former presidents act
Two of those are open seats , but they are also cutting back on Ron Johnson which is very significant I think.
He is already under the microscope about the "fake electors" effort.. Do the GOP know something we don't and have decided to cut their losses?
And in other news that will surprise no one but the MAGA Acolytes themselves
What?
Trump won't even let his most faithful supporters onto his property to use the bathroom?
After they traveled how ever far to show their undying loyalty to them man he expect them to pee behind a tree.
I thought he loved them and that he was "one of them"
Herschmann, who's jan 6th testimony included the fantastic line about what he said to John Eastmann
“And I said to him, ‘Are you out of your F-ing mind?’” Herschmann told the panel. “I said, ‘I only want to hear two words coming out of your mouth from now on: orderly transition.’”
Possibly, but getting ahead of things: until he's officially charged, he can freely travel.
Even if he did get out, it would be a one-way ticket as he's effecively be a fugitive.
"Even if he did get out, it would be a one-way ticket as he's effecively be a fugitive."
Don't threaten me with a good time!!!
Seriously, why do they think it's okay to allow this guy appear in this way?
Tucker, Hannity, Donny Jnr, Ingram - all shouty conspiracy theorist nonsense. How on earth does this resonate with anyone?
He must shovel some amount of coke into himself daily.
The above is what happens when you have no broadcasting regulations. News pundits can go on the air and deliver highly partisan editorials without end. The good news is that above the talking, there is still hard legal procedure, which Mr. Trump is currently enjoying the business end of.
It doesn't matter how many vids he makes his daddy still won't love him.
He was the guy with the baseball bat hanging on the wall behind him with "Justice" written on it in Video conferences right?
Maybe its my imagination but every time I see a Don supporter, Republican, or indeed a member of De'Family on TV they look really unsettled and nervous. Might it be a fear of de'porridge.
As far as I know, there are regulations. I think it's how you register the programme with the regulators. If you register it as a news programme, you're bound by certain criteria that what you report has to be factual, and that those facts have to be verified as true.
The likes of Hannity, Carlson, Ingraham, Pirro and others get around this by having the registering their programmes as entertainment. In that way, and under freedom of speech laws, they can say what they want as it's simply classed as free speech, they don't have to verify what they say. They can't openly lie at the same time, which is why we've never seen them disclose the contents they say they've "seen" from Hunters laptop as it's probably made up and would open them up to lawsuits, but they can give their personal opinion as fact on matters no matter how bizzare they are as they're registered as an entertainment show. It doesn't even matter if they're on a news channel, as long as the programme itself is registered as entertainment, they can even use the word news in the title if they want.
If they registered it as a news programme, there's a very strong possibility they'd be sued to oblivion, which is why they go down the entertainment route..
Basically, they don't have the guts to stand by their own word when giving it and know it's bullsh*t because if it was news, they'd have to state actual facts, which they don't.
So, by registering your channel as entertainment, you can say (almost) anything you want? You get to call your channel 'news', present it in a serious manner, and have anchors who show no sign of being po-faced when delivering their endless editorials, but then hide behind the entertainment banner when you get taken to court? It all just seems like a massive legal loophole that is contributing to the worsening division within the United States.
He's been sniffing adderall for decades, by all accounts. There's no doubt that he's on something.
No, they can put whatever slant they like on it and still call it news. Ofcom polices UK news channels and keeps them balanced, but there's no equivalent requirement in the US. Freedom of speech.
Yeah there are various ways that they can be considered "entertainment" or "opinion" shows rather than news, and that the hosts are presenters or personalities rather than journalists. As PCB says, the laws and rules around it are far more lax about it in the UK than in the US.
Insane levels of gesticulations.
Yep, the very same one that said
“I said, ‘Good, John. Now I’m going to give you the best free legal advice you’re ever getting in your life: Get a great F-ing criminal defense lawyer. You’re going to need it,’” Herschmann added. “And then I hung up on him.”
Too many fizzy jellies
Suppose the Don rocks up to Doonbeg so the Feds cant get to him. That might make a really interesting extradition application in the Irish courts. 😊
It's also a complete fabrication - The agents that arrived were regular FBI agents , not the HRT and they were all unarmed , which was probably a direct request from the Secret Service before they came onto the property.
Why do they insist on pushing these readily disproven lies all the time?
He's accompanied by Secret Service agents at all times , who work for the US government not Trump.
If the US wanted him back and he refused, those guys would bring him back.
Given what's happened around the DoSS and the Jan 6th phones, plus the feality trump requires from people who work/serve him would lead me to believe that it wouldn't be so simple
they wouldn't. that isn't their job. An extradition would have to go through the same channels as any other extradition.
I almost can't imagine Trump wanting to have security who are ultimately loyal to the current US administration, and the more he feels like he's in real trouble, the less he'll want them still, being that there could be a moment when they're directed to slap on some cuffs. But it's been the case several times, now, that there's precious little protocol or precedent for what to be done about the situations Trump creates, so if it does look bad for Trump and he tries to abscond, get the popcorn.
Sure looks like he is reading from a prepared script he thought he had memorised but the guy is off his tree.
This is all moot really.
I don't think Trump goes anywhere to be honest.
His only source of power is his red hat wearing acolytes in the US - He needs them and he needs to be sort of near them - Obviously he doesn't actually want to be near them , he finds them physically repugnant but he needs them on the streets outside courthouses and Government buildings etc. holding their flags and signs.
I am pretty sure that the Secret Service has one task: ensuring the personal safety of DJT. If the feds come looking for him, then the warrant and any subsequent action must be taken by the Gardai, with backing, if necessary, of the Irish courts.
If the Secret Service agents are some type of Trump "loyalists" things might get interesting.
Either that or the idea in the back of their mind that some of their supporters might eventually flip on them and start gunning for them.
Nah, it'll be cuba. He's probably already built tunnels from cuba to the basement at Mar a Lago!
