Some small but potent storms kicking off around the country. Worth a separate thread as this risk for big thunder and big lightning is there until tomorrow night at least. All parts at risk this evening but east and south main focus tomorrow.

It seems to have eased off a bithere now over Galway. Luckily it never got closer than roughly 10 miles as the kids would have been up wanting to see it more closely while the wife shouted to keep them away from the windows while cowering under the stairs

Absolutely amazing watching that thunderstorm pass by from Galway city, constant lightning and thunder, have a great view and enjoyed every minute.

Also gings pub in Carrick on Shannon is thought to be struck by lightning this morning around 6am looks so bad the fire damage

More light shows now, to the south west and north of Kanturk no direct hits all 10-15 miles away. Deep thunder though

Another storm just rolled to the south of me in the last half hour. It probably went through kinvara up to maybe craughwell in Galway.
Ye but surely dublin be added into it, i no longer live there but always used to do my head in lol

The action was away from where I am, but could see the flashes of lightning in the distance and hear the thunder, but the best thing has been the rain, more rain please...

Thought the storm was gone from Galway, sudden flash and loud bang.
Just now a massive flash, shortly followed by thunder that sounded more like artillery.

Very nice, looks like it was going to the electricity pole.
