My delivery scheduled 09/09
I only ordered a long range model 3 a month back, delivery was to be Jan-mar 23.
last friday I matched for a September 2nd delivery.
guess someone cancelled
It is a white RWD with 18" wheels
😎 safe travels!
If you could estimate a timeline for a 2021 M3LR(heat pump) to get under €40k, how many years do you think it will take? 5-6 years?
Rolling the dice will be just as accurate as anything else. Values could and have already gone up for older EVs.
The Q4 2020 deliveries had the 2021 update including heatpump!
If it's a crater type ding, pouring boiling water over it and lightly tapping around the ding may pop it back. I've done it a few times before successfully. You need to get the metal hot, so a slow pour is needed. Won't work so well if it's a sharp or creased ding.
Was sentry mode off?
Just don't get carried away while tapping with the hammer.
From anyone that has collected their Tesla in the past, how far in advance did you receive the registration? I'm still having an extremely hard time getting any insurance without it. Starting to worry about how I will drive it home at this stage. I don't currently have a car/insurance (which is why it's tricky getting insurance in itself)
EV insurance through power insurances sorted me out before in exactly the same situation.
You'd typically receive a text with the reg about a week before collection.
I've collected a few quotes from Insurance companies over the last week or so - I have the reference numbers so once I get the reg, i just call up the chosen provider, finalise the policy and zip\zap, all done
We are still 4 weeks out from collection - getting insurance in place can be done in less than an hour.
You'd probably be more likely to get an LFP SR+ under 40k first, which has similar range.
These cars arent depreciating simply because there is a dearth of supply and a pent up demand. The removal of the grant next year - which seems likely - will also add a few k to the price of used models.
Is it possible to get some sort of key fob when you buy your car instead of the cards? I don't really carry a wallet. I know phone is primary key but I'd have to keep key card with phone when out, and that doesn't make much sense.
You can buy Tesla key fob on their website for € 213. https://shop.tesla.com/en_ie/product/model-3_y-key-fob
I'm collecting my car late September and I was told by Tesla that I'll recieve my reg number 7 days before delivery, I rang my broker yesterday and asked how much will my insurace be on the tesla to check without the reg for now and he got me quote for 650 with RSA, if this is true this will be my cheapest insurance.
I meant instead, for the price of the car I would expect more than a card if I wanted.
I use a card holder key ring, cheap and always with my house keys.

Would a small credit card holder like the ones used for staff badges do? Slip the card in the pocket without having to worry about it bending. Should still be less bulky than a fob. Or get Secrid type of credit card wallet. I use latter and it's handy for all the cards including Tesla one.
Edit: Eagerv got there first. I had something like that in mind.
Washday...
This is the one I am presently using, a little slimmer than the one I linked above:
If you leave the keycard in the back of your phone (phone cases usually have slots for cards these days) that should work no?
I wouldnt pay for the model 3 keyfob as they don't work the same way as the S/X ones do. You can't click the buttons to open the trunk/frunk etc
I've been using a secrid slimwallet for years, highly recommend. That said, all the cards i use regularly are in my Apple wallet, so really only use my phone or watch to pay for anything these days. I don't bring my secrid wallet with me anymore, unless I need to.
My plan is to use my phone as my primary key and bring the keycard as backup in my secrid wallet.

Great review here. It looks like you can use the fob for opening trunk/frunk/charge port

I bought this one on Amazon. Just to have a house key with me.
If I was going to get a card holder to hold the key to my Tesla, I'd want it to be as discreet as possible....... and not be advertising it's from a Tesla!!
Consider if you dropped your keys in a carpark, how many other Tesla's do you think would be parked in the same carpark?
They might not be able to drive your car away (if you have Pin to Drive enabled), but they'd still have (more) time inside your car to go through any belongings left inside!!
Sure they might eventually pull the card out of a discreet card holder and realise it's a Tesla key, but with any of the ones above, they'll know it's a Tesla key before they even pick it up off the ground!!!
Just my 2 cents on key card holders.
Good point Andy. To be fair I never thought of that.
The whole point is that I don't do this. What happens if I lose phone? Now phone and backup key gone.
Well in that case put it in another pocket. There is little difference between loosing a car key or a tesla card .......other than your phone or Tesla app are a great backup. Of course if you loose your phone, your Tesla Card key, the second Tesla Card Key ..then you are in trouble!
You all make our choices....there are multiple options but anyone who want a Tesla Fob will need to buy it and pay.
Yes they do, it's the exact reason I had a fob ahead of delivery day.
Double click front to open frunk, double click rear to open/close the boot and hold in the rear to open/unlock the charge port
