I was wondering why I haven’t heard much Linda Ronstadt or James Taylor for a while!
😂😂
Neil Doherty must have his copy of Stevie's Wonders Greatest Hits and ABBA gold worn out by this stage.
Very different playlist today.
Lots of boybands?
does he still play The Shires on every show ?
So where is Ronan these days? Haven't heard him in a while although that might only be a week or two.
Fourth week away, was due to be only one. Meant to be back some time in June
Ronan back tomorrow!
What, who’s this impostor?
Boo-urns!
#shayforeverronannever
Accroche toi a ton reve! Nice way to come back and comforting to hear the familiar midday voice again.
No Jimmy Buffet for weeks...i'm cracking up
Jays, was listening to that last track, wondering who it was, thinking it was some old post-punk thing from the 80s or maybe 90s and turns out it was none other than the latest from the bould Paulo Nutini!!
Ronan into his second week back, could not resist playing the Knopf
Some **** on that Radio 1 recommends list. I presume Ronan has to play something from it each day.
Very heavy nostalgia today with the two hour Bank Holiday show.
Nice tribute to the late Judith Durham today.
What an amazing voice she had.
Louise Duffy standing in for Ronan this week, and I think she's doing a great job!
She's excellent, playing a great selection of music.
Enjoyed Rad Cuddihy filling in this week. Think he does a great job when he steps in here and on late date, always brings his own distinctive style to the radio without alienating regular listeners, and is a great champion of Irish music.
Ray Wingnut?
Yes
Edit - His you tube channel Guerilla Sounds was great, tho it seems to have gone fairly quiet as he appeared more on RTE https://www.youtube.com/c/GuerrillaSounds/videos
Maybe it doesnt belong here, as it wouldn't really fit in with Ronan's listener profile!
Good to have a change from the normal bland Collins patter, where only the date and names change.
Louise played In Spite Of Ourselves by John Prine and Iris DeMent today. Well done to her for having "the balls" to play it. I doubt if Ronan would do it. She also played a lovely cover version of Simon & Garfunkel's The Boxer by Marcus Mumford, never heard it before, it's excellent. Also played a singer from Waterford called Moncrief, who I know nothing about, he sounded quite good. Overall a very welcome change from Ronan, never thought I would see myself typing that.
Definitely nice to get a break from the " roundy" birthdays craic.
Nice breakeen for Ronan alright. Surprised that John Prine number slipped through the net alright, nice one Louise!
She don't like her eggs all runny
She thinks crossin' her legs is funny
She looks down her nose at money
She gets it on like the Easter Bunny
She's my baby I'm her honey
I'm never gonna let her go
He ain't got laid in a month of Sundays
I caught him once and he was sniffin' my undies
He ain't too sharp but he gets things done
Drinks his beer like it's oxygen
He's my baby
And I'm his honey
Never gonna let him go
😮 !
Oh ye of little faith. I remember him playing that song a few times.

Thanks, didn't know he played it then, mustn't have been listening that day.
She's doing a great job.
I'm predicting Louise Duffy to permanently replace Collins and Nadine O'Reegan to replace Creedon next year
