Definitely, I'd say. All sounds very suspicious!
Detroit is the home of a lot of the US Auto industry as would a lot of that area of England.
Only notice this morning EI562 DUB-BCN running on a Boeing 777(EC-MUA), has EI been doing wide body on this route for long?
There's your answer there. Speaking of, anyone know what happened the other day with these that led to the "terrifying chaos" of a diversion to Shannon and low fuel? Just to note, I hate sensationalist headlines!

Runway 34 was temporarily in use at Dublin and the 777 diverted to Shannon to await the re-opening of 28L a couple of hours later.
What happened to UA22 yesterday…..seems to be some problem with the change in runway and very angry punter onboard…🤔
Cheers colbarr, Never seen that article myself
From FR24 playback it looks like the aircraft may have taken a taxiway that it shouldn't have, and then had to backtrack runway 16 to turn around and come back to the active runway for departure. That is unless ATC so directed it, of course.
AVRO Lancaster just departed Casement.
Lancaster Bomber just took off from Baldonnel heading home
I understand that the crew advised passengers it was an emergency landing and to read the emergency literature. Maybe not the best of communication between crew and passengers.
Landed for fuel as hadn't sufficient amount to circle outside of Dublin pending a runway being available, so stopped at Shannon to refuel.
Is declaring an emergency normal for a fuel divert and is it not odd to have a little extra fuel for situations like this?
This aircraft sounds like a 2 stroke haha i genuinely thought it’s a was moped or lawn mower
I heard that Piaggio P-180 over Raheny ... moped of the air alright :)
It's quite capable, despite the idiosyncratic design. Service ceiling of 41,000 feet and speeds not far off what the simpler jets achieve.
That’s where I was when I heard actually haha at st annes
Declaring an emergency for a fuel diversion is not normal, and I have yet to see proof that they did so. It is normal (and indeed required) to carry fuel for some holding, but not for 2+ hours to wait for the works on 28L/10R to end. Also the runway at Arrecife is quite short to begin with, as a result the 320s for example often have stop for fuel in Faro on the way home if there’s a headwind. This 772 likely wouldn’t have been able to get out with an additional 2 hours of fuel even if they wanted to.
Possibly the 777 was due to refuel at SNN with passengers on board, in which case there may have been a safety announcement about same.
AFAIK the only safety anouncenment for refuelling with PAX on board is that seatbelts must be unfastened.
I was told they were advised to read the safety leaflet and it was an emergency landing. Which caused people to be concerned.
Sitting out here in NW Sardinia and heard what could only be the unmistakable drone of an An12 overhead. En route from Málaga to Skopje.
CVK7031 from Malaga to Skopje https://fr24.com/CVK7031/2cded07c
US Air Force c130 super Hercules flying over Island right now.

I presume that this flight originated in South Africa itself.
Got to admire the persistence and resilience of a pilot who navigates a single-engine turboprop ~11,000km. Wonder what the fuel bill is for that?
I presume he didn't come here to see the Spire.
No, and haven't seen it mentioned as a routing point either. ;) He landed in Aldergrove after taking in Belfast at 800m. Maybe it's just a hop on a WW tour!
Could be being ferried to a new owner. He might be heading for the VHF/ADSB corridor across the Atlantic over Iceland.
Amateur hour question here:
I was driving on the Ennis bypass on 20/07/22 around 17.30 (on my drive home from work) and I spotted 2 planes flying over head, very close together.
One was a big plane, the other was a small plane (I told you I am an amateur!) but they were very close together, the smaller one was moving from one side to another....what was going on there? Was I seeing things?
I am pretty certain it was a proper plane, not a glider being pulled (considering the territory it was flying across and the scale of both planes!) It would have been going north from Shannon, I guess?
Sorry I can't post the video but did they look anything like this?
I don't live in Waterford but this was taken by my sister by the coast in Mayo.
Yeah like that, they were even closer when I seen then, the smaller one was switching sides.
It's almost like it was tethered on, but pretty sure I seen it move ahead at one stage (I was driving and rubber necking at same time!)
Was that video from same day?
It was ennis county clare by the way
If I pay for Flightradar Can I listen to the control tower/planes or does it give me the information to use another app to listen ?
Use ATC live
