Can you do some serious work in a week to bring it down, if it's only a point? I'm not sure what's involved in losing 1 point though!
Unfortunately one point is including what I could realistically lose in the next week. I would be about 7 pounds over the limit
Don’t worry about it, nothing to worry about at all. Mine was higher and nothing said bar ‘hopefully you’ll have that down for your yearly medical’ and smiled. Provided everything else is ok like ECG, cholesterol etc then you’ll be fine.
Thanks. I ran a 10k in under an hour last night so I think I should be ok with it the rest of it
Honestly don’t stress about it at all. You’ve nothing to worry about with your BMI. I was worried before mine and asked on here and got mixed responses about needing to be called back, failing completely etc etc but none of it happened and mine was higher than yours is even on the day. Once nothing else flags up then you’ll be fine.
One less thing to worry about then I suppose. Thanks for that. Really after putting me at ease
Did anyone do the OBCS interview in the last few days?
If you cut all/nearly all carbs out of your diet for 3-4 days you generally will lose at least 2-3kgs of water weight. Look up the keto diet for more on this.
This plus a decent calorie deficit for the week will easily get you under the 30 bmi.
Obviously, do not attempt this if you are diabetic (although if you are I don't think that will fly for the medical anyway).
Good luck
Any news on a Diesel Class yet??
Isn't there a diesel class starting this month?
I’ve heard a dart class starting 15th I think? Haven’t heard about a diesel class yet though?
Ah yes, I was just getting mixed up on that I think.
Yes had mine 2 weeks ago!
Anyone have a medical for Onboard Customer Service Officer?
Waiting to do an interview for mallow. What Station did you apply for ? Congrats on getting to medical stage, should be no fear of you in the medical, pass that and you'll definitely have the job, irish rail don't hand out medicals for the craic.
Anyone on here going for any of the apprentice jobs this year?
They also give medicals ahead of interviews though.
Hi lads
Quick question. I got through to the final stages of the last driver recruitment drive but failed at the last hurdle with no explanation. I'm after getting an email about the assessment centre which I have got back into. Basically I'm wondering would anyone know who I should contact about why I failed the first time before I go through the process again. I just don't want to go for it if I failed for something that's unfixable from the first drive. Thanks guys
When you say you failed at the last hurdle, do you mean the interview stage?
Done medical and first interview but was never really told anymore other than I was unsuccessful
I did @conor45
Have a medical on Monday, but after reading stuff here not too confident on passing.
Did you apply?
I did. Did the medical last week and was told I had passed. Have you, or anybody else for that matter any idea about if there is another interview or if it’s basically a done deal as long as we pass the second aptitude test?
Also, what part of the medical are you worried about?
As far as I know the medical is the last step but could be wrong. Didn't know anything about a second aptitude test.
BMI is the area I'd be worried about.
Yeah we need to sit one in the training centre in inchicore just to prove that It was actually us that did the original one. Shoot me a message there and we can have a chat about it.
I’ll put it to you this way. If you look back a few pages you’ll see that I was bricking myself about the same thing. I went in with a BMI of 31.6 and not a single word was said about it. I scored very well in all of the other tests (cholesterol, ECG, hearing, eyesight, colour vision etc). If BMI is the only thing that’s going to go against you then you have absolutely nothing to worry about
anyone hear anything about drivers classes recently by any chance?
Just the DART class starting on Monday. That was apparently delayed a couple of times too.
Has anybody who did line managers interview last month for Dublin based driver roles heard anything back yet?
