Nothing like a closed mind....
They don't call him Swirlface Mc Ginty for nothing 😉
Nothing got to do with closed mind.
Im just around the car industry long enough to know how it works, I’m also around Teslas long enough to know how they arrive.
Don’t take it personally.
Im also open to be proved wrong. Im not always right. But you’d have to post a few pics.
BMW, Porsche, VW all exactly the same.
Like many people here, still anxiously waiting for official confirmation from Tesla that a VIN has been assigned to my order. The only unofficial confirmation I have is checking via this link was circulated.
https://www.tesla.com/teslaaccount/oxp-bff-api/user-orders
Is there any way to verify the specified VIN is en-route and will actually be delivered this quarter?
Yes there is... you wait until Tesla confirms a delivery date ....finding the VIN in source code is the closest you get and in short shows that Tesla have identified a specific vehicle and attached it to your order.
I understand its an anxious time but thats as good as it gets and just needs patience.....
Did you pay for the premium connectivity option? or you didn’t find it useful?
Both of those ships have a destination of Suez Canal (Egypt) and their ETA is 5th and 7th August respectively… On to Europe from there I assume….
Mike
I had free premium connectivity in my
previous Model S’s. Nice feature.
I pay the 9.99 for it on the M3. To me it’s worth it for the theatre that gets used every other day with the kids and if I’m waiting for them at training etc.
Also sentry mode viewing the cameras etc
The hassle of setting up wifi hotspots everytime I get into the car is worth the €3 a week.
Yes, I have continued the Premium Connectivity, worth the €2.30/week. Less than a cup of coffee, which to be fair I rarely buy..☺️
I like the satellite map view, live camera view, internet radio and spotify.
I really don’t care about a few swirls here and there and I’m pretty sure I won’t notice them. I will look for bubbles in the paint and weird panel gaps. It sounds like the MIC ones are fairly solid so I’m confident it will be okay.
Haven't noticed any orange peel on my newish Model 3, had a little on my ID.3 and a previous Honda, but didn't worry me. On most cars you can notice a slight paint thickening at the edge of panels and the Model 3 is probably no different. But better than being too thin. Most cars come with and develop some swirls, you can normally correct them if you so wish, personally I am not too bothered. After 8K kms haven't even got a stone chip as yet. Touch wood.☺️
I don't think you will be disappointed..
Do they supply the flash drive in the glove box for recording or you supply it yourself?
It is supplied with the car
Anyone had any experience of the Model Y ride comfort? Is it as harsh as the reviewers seem to think? I'm coming from a G30 5 series which is pretty comfortable if a bit boat-like in handling at times. I'll be test driving 3 & Y on Saturday morning but I'm just curious to hear any thoughts in advance.
edit: Didn't see the Model Y thread.
Probably best asking in the Model Y thread…
Just came across this article on Twitter - long story short, Tesla are apparently limiting standard connectivity for all new vehicle orders from July onward after a fixed 8 year period although it seems to be US based as the costing referenced is all USD would expect to roll out everywhere eve tually...if it's true that is
https://www.notateslaapp.com/news/882/tesla-makes-changes-to-standard-connectivity-will-no-longer-include-nav-and-more-after-8-years
Trying to manage music on your phone is reason enough to get premium. It was not sustainable for me as I'm jumping between songs, albums and playlists the whole time
Got confirmation text from Tesla this morning.
Tesla Update - Great news, a car has now been allocated to your order. Your vehicle arrival date is being calculated. We will be in contact soon to make delivery arrangements. Not ready for your Model 3 or need help? Call us on 01 513 4727, option 4. Your order reference is RN11708XXXX. To unsubscribe from SMS, reply STOP.
its well worth it and you will be able to trial it as you get 1 month free when you collect your car. When the features disappear you want them back. Often thought Tesla should do the same with the EAP enhancement, providing it free for a month for users to get used to it, providing much greater chance that users subscribe as as opposed to making a decision to fork out 3K upfront without trying.
When my premium connectivity trial expired (got about 3 months instead of the 30 days it was supposed to be), I tried for about a month to do the phone hotspot thing, and decided quickly enough the premium connectivity was well worth the €0.32 per day…. And have had it now for 2 years..
even just for the satellite maps alone… just I’ve been using the Spotify a lot lately and it’s just so much better when it all just works without issue…. Same with Netflix & YouTube…
Interesting article!
👍️ - Great news!
Have you have a tick against all four areas on the Tesla account page? (i.e. Delivery Location, Payment Method, Trade-In, Registration)
I'm still to close out Payment Method so maybe thats why I haven't received a text like yours yet.
Is your VIN showing on the app now?
congratulations in advance ! and I assume the finance part from AIB already sorted then.
Finally!
Hi, just wondering if anyone has experience with 3 bike racks for 3 bikes. Any advice is welcome. Best of luck for everyone receiving a new Tesla. Exciting times, you won’t regret it.
I still need to remove my trade in from my Tesla account, I sold it yesterday for much better money.
I did email Tesla this morning querying if a car had assigned etc. I got the sms then about an hour later. EDD still saying Aug 3-17, but expect it to be closer to end of August. No official word yet re delivery date.
Hi, I was wondering if anyone had experience/ recommendations for any bike carriers suitable for up to 3 bikes? I don’t have a tow bar fitted. Good luck to all new or soon to be Tesla owners. Exiting times, you won’t regret it.
I bought the roof bars and Thule bike racks -> works great.
Did some research and would not recommend the tow hitch for bikes for Model 3. More on the problem here:

I have 2 of these Thule carriers. Could easily carry 2 full size bikes and 2 kids bikes.
3 full sized bikes would hit if you turn them so the bars are not clashing.
Plenty of room for a third bike. The 2 carriers here are pushed right in along the bar, with a good gap between them.
Completely agree.
Baldonnel had that set up last time round. I wonder will it be the same this time round?
