Bad enough officials at the DOF new about the AIB decision, now this...
Mother of God, you just have to wonder what goes on in government departments.
This is like a caterpillar, it has legs and is not going to go away anytime soon.
Only seen it recently, but Caterine Connolly's withering assessment of the two of them and their government was bang on the money.
Beggar's belief, no one seems to be in charge 🙄
Are we on page 10 of #aibgate 😁
One of the best speeches in the Dail that I can remember 😉 it had more impact than the entire contribution from the government benches, especially Heathers incoherent gibberish and some chap going on about Michael Collins, so irrelevant I can't recall his name, I think his own colleagues embarrassed for him.
Based on demand I felt I should share again
A MOC in the government and she doubles down on what has lost them support since before GE 2020, attacking a single party. ROFL
Not the sharpest knive in the drawer TBH
I think it's Hillarious, something about the women that makes me cry with laughter.
Guess the attempt to blame the civil servants hasn't worked out as expected for FFG. :) Someone will have to explain it, and Irish politics in general, to poor BA. :)
Regards...jmcc
Indeed, quite the Kerfuffle 😏
I thought I posted that before. Can't remember.
Ah look she is brilliant. More brains than the 3 unwise men put together. And she is honest. She nails their nonsense and failures every single time she speaks in the Dail. They are afraid of her really because they know she has their number.
Jaysus. Are they intent on losing rural and grey voters?!? Such incompetence repeated over and over and over again.
This coalition will live in infamy.
3 MORE YEARS !!! Do not leave a shred of doubt among the rational electorate...🙂
It's truly extraordinary and folks wonder why rural Ireland increasingly turning away from FFG
They won't last 3 more years.
They better last 2 at least!!!
They will be lucky to last that long.
Can I ask a serious question. I'm not Irish. I can get citizenship If I want been here long enough. Why is criticizing the Government Verboten. I mean the opposition is supposed to hold the Gov of the day to account and not come up with the solutions their not in power. For me and I'm not pointing fingers but seems a Very Irish attitude from the Gov side to say stuff like run for office then or what's your solution. None of us are in Power. You elect people to make the decisions in the best interest of the people who voted you in. Here after years It seems politicians seem to think the electorate is a hindrance and not something they should be listening to. I personally find it very very odd.
And please don't try to turn this into Anti Irish sentiment. I love this country.
Some people view their party as an identity, a mark of who they are. Maybe their father, grandfather etc. supported said party. Then some see society as segregated, 'me and my party verses the rest'. It suits their idea of who they are. It's kind of like a soccer team too. You support them no matter how badly they perform, because they're your team. Instead of taking criticism on board, you'll attack the other team, especially if it's coming from a perceived rival party because they don't want the other side taking away their power and money.
Thankfully the majority of Irish people are floating voters with no such ties. I wish we had more. There is nothing worse than a party looking after 'our own'. It shows they don't view everyone as equals but problems to be dismissed or placated.
For some, political and policy criticism is an attack on who they are. It's an attempt to take bread from their mouths. The public/greater good doesn't come into it. So if you've even a valid criticism, you'll be jumped on. It's like The Beano does politics.
MM keeping his options open 🤔🤔
Doubtful he'll even be in charge of FF come next GE, BUT it's rather curious that despite the vicious back and fourth with MLM, the obvious hatred of Leo towards anything to do with the Main opposition party, Who is current coalition partner with FF , MM would be discussing this now. Kind of makes a mockery of the FFG stance on the main opposition party.
Desperation 🤔, Kite flying 🤔, Poo Stirring on MM part 🤔
I think that's a sign of a leader under pressure froim his own. He's really marking the cards of FG in that, that there is no automatic coalition.
That's a sop to possible renegades within FF IMO.
We know after all that was his position when he opened the door to SF when he thought FF were the lead party on the night of the GE count.
It's not rather curious. FF and MM have said for months if not years they are not going to rule out anything before the next election.
The only party which has ruled it out if FG, hence why we have the obsession online with Leo and FG by some.
https://www.irishecho.com/2022/1/martin-leaves-door-open-for-sf-coalition
Morning BA, I think the timing is actually curious , we've known MM has never entirely ruled out a coalition with SF.
I just think it, shall we say interesting the week after FG and Paschal throw him under a bus (not for the first time), MM reminding FG he has potential options, Albeit its looking like he'll neither be making any decisions apart from retirement and MLM won't require FF support to do anything 😉
Wrong. Martin has ruled out coalition with SF before. One might call him a flip flopper.
“The Fianna Fáil party will not be going to government with Sinn Féin, it’s not just about the past, I’ve laid of my stall on that but it’s also about the future as well,” Martin said.
He has ruled it out before - opened the door - and now again, is not ruling it out.
Martin is an old style sleeveen politician, his word has never been his bond - see also him saying he'd never go into a coalition with FG, to the faces of the actual electorate.
He's certainly all over the place god bless him 😉
It's not curious. Anyway I see this is the latest tangent to go off on, just rehashing the same conversation so have an enjoyable day
Cheerio 🤗
No tangent, the poster was responding to a news item. 'Current Affairs'. you understand the concept of the forum?
Your Gas BA, I respond to an article and can't be curious do you believe folks can't have a thought process now, that's certainly up there.
But thanks I will have a wonderful day, You too back 😉
He is indicating that they will not be running on a 'more of the same' platform. Expect mucho evasion, sleeveen speak etc when asked who he would be prepared to go into government with.
How he is going to criticise the policies/offer something different to his former coalition partners will deplete the stock of popcorn on this sceptred isle!
😂 So many more lessons to be learned
