I have 15k in ironed notes in a hold all ready to go.
Appears as though there are some changes to EV Charging grant (EUR600) that become effective September 2002, restricting availability of the grant to "Smart Chargers"
"From September 2022 the EV Home Charger Grant Scheme will only support smart chargers registered on Triple E"
For anyone considering buying a charger bear the specifications and September date in mind and do your research before..
Speaking with the sales guy in Cork on Saturday after the test drive. I was asking him if the recent US/UK price increase is going to be introduced here in Ireland. He said that the price increase in US and UK was just catching up with the Irish price increase....???
So he is not expecting another price increase until the price increases again in the US/UK etc...
Prices vary by country associated with all sorts of things (local tax rates, VRT etc) making meaningful comparisons on a worldwide basis somewhat of an academic exercise ...but simply put....meaningless....there is never an objective to keep prices the same across the different geographic markets! The price increases purportedly related to escalating costs on a worldwide basis in components, lithium, etc. These are not local and if you need convincing the cars for the UK come from China in the same way as Irish cars do, making similar costs to produce/ship. In March there were also prices increases that took place first in US, China then UK, followed quickly by Ireland at which time any "alignment" , to the extent that it was needed would have been addressed.
Will leave you to form your own opinion but for me I would take the comments of the Tesla guy with a big grain of salt as it simply does not stack up. Ireland not increasing prices since March is out of line.
The trade-in offer just came into my Tesla account, €21,850.00. It's valid until 24/8. I was offered €23,000 at the start of May.
They gave me the same offer in May and then almost 2k less after a month, with just 500km more. I decided to sell to another dealer and I got more than the first offer in May.
I went ahead and ordered :) just wondering when the remaining balance needs to be paid off? I have two "to-do" steps in my account, (1) upload insurance doc, and (2) pay off balance. I take it I can leave both steps until the delivery date is scheduled?
Ignore (1). Not a requirement here.
I asked the same questions further back, the Insurance is a US thing, its automatically ticket off. Based on others here, the remaining balance can be payed once you have a delivery date and no longer an EDD.
I'd agree with that. Tesla have demonstrated they adjust their prices at anytime unannounced. Unlike buying from a traditional dealer, with Tesla you are buying direct from the manufacturer who in turn sets the fixed price (probably at the EMEA Head Office). The guy in the local agency is unlikely to have any advance knowledge of price rises/falls as all it take is an update to the website.
I can picture Elon at the big table saying " Whaa, the poor Irish, they are charged that huge Vat and what's this VRT crap? F**k it, leave them alone lads.."
I’m going to look at selling privately in the meantime.
Anyone go for PPF and have cost/pictures they can share?
Tesla submitted my AIB finance application late Friday and received email around 12 today that it was approved! I’m not AIB client.
Does the Tesla come with Type 2 cable as a standard in addition to granny cable?
thanks
I would hope so, they certainly did up to recently.
yes
Still waiting here - was submitted to AIB on 15th July....🤨
I guess no harm following up with your Tesla salesman or whoever forwarded your documents, it’s in there interest to speed the approval as well
Did you buy Tesla floor mats? Or you bought some other brand ?
Your car will come with floor mats (Carpet type) ..front and back. Some people upgrade but they were fine for me. I had intended to change but never did
I also saw on the app same delivery dates like you 19thAug- 2nd Sept! Wonder how many of us sharing the same slot.
I'll be getting mine ceramic coated, tinted and PPF at the front but I'm still waiting for delivery of the car first. EDD August, I'll post pictures when I've it done in September.
Sounds like a plan...best of luck with it all
Type 2 is included, but no granny cable anymore as far as I know
Don't think you get the granny cable anymore
Do u know who you are using? Do you have a recommendation or used em before?
As far as I am aware the removal of granny charger was only applicable for US market and those who received Q2 deliveries in Europe still had one included. It is not (never was) included in the spec so it is not contractual. For anyone who is overly concerned "call Tesla"
PPF can cost €5k
Pictures won’t show anything as it is a clear product.
When i rang tesla a few weeks back the lady said she was confident the granny charging cable was included.
