Baldonnell was brilliant. The sight of that vampire circling the field was worth the price of admission alone. We got lucky with the weather in that wheat field

Any confirmation on BoB flight? That’s the main one id be interested in seeing. Be great to get a sight of them from back garden (under flight path for Baldonnell)

Next will be air corps 2006 Renault Megans in special centenary livery. For 30 mins. With excitable commentary.

    (a) Only the Lancaster is present in Ireland. The Hurricane returned to the UK on Friday.

    (b) It appears that the wind conditions are outside the Lancaster's permitted limits so unless something changes very soon, it won't be flying today.

Have the red arrows left Baldonnell?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,646 ✭✭✭EchoIndia

No, waiting for a rain squall to pass through.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,646 ✭✭✭EchoIndia

Red Arrows commencing taxi, 1657 hrs.

Red Arrows can't operate off wet runway with present crosswind - taxiing back in.

Better not let Putin know what the secret to defeating the RAF is - attack on a wet and windy day

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,229 ✭✭✭MuffinsDa

Red cancelled thanks to great run order by organisers. At least we saw the Renault Megans. Unbelievable.

They'd want to get their story straight, their social media accounts have posted the final act is about to get airborne...

No idea what the delay was to be honest. There was a dry window from about 4 until the rain came at about 4.45 locally here where they could have got off the ground and headed out. Has nobody got weather radar in Baldonnel?

Is it confirmed red arrows are off? We're in a boat off bray so will begin the journey home if so

This must have been the cause of delays getting into Bray today. Halfwits.

Lol laughable. More action at Dublin at Dublin airport and don’t have to be stuck in a dart for two hours.

Could the Red Arrows not have flown in the 40 minutes wasted licking up to the Garda helicopter?

    Absolute shambles.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,544 ✭✭✭emo72

Between the dart debacle, and the weather. It was a bit of a disaster. There's something really wrong with this country. Especially when it comes to public transport. We are an embarrassment. And the weather wasn't really bad at all.

Disappointing. Does anybody know when the Reds are flying out, I might get to see them depending on which way they go

    I'm partial to your abracadabra
I'm raptured by the joy of it all

Glad I didn't go to Bray. Was in Baldonnel yesterday was fantastic and no traffic problems.

I feel an avalanche of **** coming. Joe Duffy is salivating right now.

My missus asked me last night, what did we want to do today?......I decided to knock it on the head as I reckoned the weather was touch'n'go. Considering that we need to drive the train station and get 3 trains (e/w) I am glad of my decision. Instead, we went for a walk at out local beach this morning and got home at 1300.

It's disappointing to hear of the train shambles because over the years, I always felt like the organisers and IrishRail did a great job marshalling people back on afterwards.

The weather forecast was always marginal for display flying, especially for older aircraft that cannot be risked - look back at earlier posts here. Like it or not, the owners/operators have to make the call and there is no point in risks being taken when the whole event is for entertainment purposes.
