The only issue I have with the service is it defaults to US Disney+ service which is a far inferior product to the UK/Irish one.
No way to disable US region through their website.
Did you ask them if they’re planning on implementing that?
They've known about the issue for over a year and done nothing about it.
To me it's a service that's coasting on its reputation, no new features or value ad in years.
I think the Indian Disney plus is similar to ours? I was using India for the NBA which also covers Disney plus and I don't see much difference.
How/Where are you guys seeing the option for Disney+?
Only place I'm seeing it is in Channel Group C, and in there it gives me the option to select Ireland and it also mentions "turn off" to access your current country.
It doesn't work.
I feel your existential pain! But JFYI my seed4.me VPN lifetime sub (also from bargain Alerts) goes up to 2097 !!!
I find the same with now tv, defaults to the British one so sports extra doesn't work but then the British app knows you're in Ireland, make up your mind like!
turn off getflix via the app in you want uk disney plus
How do you turn it off via the app?
So you can toggle between the two "on the fly" as it were?
As in, watch Prime UK through Getflix, turn it off and watch Irish Disney+, turn it on again for more Prime? Or do you have to redo the IP address everytime?
never mind the turning off part i was thinking of something else
i used to get a new ip address daily rather than a static and that is how i got disney uk and then i would update my ip on the app and go back to normal with getflix
very happy with getflix for the price, had tried controld and whilst full of functionallity i thought it was inconsistent with unlocking services.
You could try using DNSMasq if you have dd-wrt firmware flashed on your router which gives you the ability to route your DNS requests based on domain name. Took me a while to get it right but basically all DNS requests go to default dns (8.8.8.8) unless I have an entry in dnsmasq, which means I can route iplayer/bbc domain requests to getflix for uk gelocation, and keep disney in ireland. This logic applies to other domains (NOWTV, ITV) and to all devices on the network.
example below:
server=/bbc.co.uk/bbc.net.uk/bbc.com/bbci.co.uk/54.72.70.84
server=/itv.com/channel4.com/channel5.com/five.tv/skyanywhere.com/sky.com/nowtv.com/skychnl.net/bt.com/btcsp.co.uk/54.72.70.84
Anyone else getting spam emails from The Futurist, Stacksocial and Getflix after signing up for this?
Just The Futurist.
Unsubbed though.
Just unsubscribe and it stops
Has the smart dns stopped working with BBC Iplayer for anyone else?
No it’s fine for me
BBC iPlayer fine for me too
Mine seems to be okay
Did you check if your current IP address is the one registered with them?
I did, there's just something funny going on with it. I had DDNS set up on my router to automatically update my IP address on my GetFlix account. It's been working perfectly for months but it's just stopped working for some reason. I disabled the DDNS and went back to manually updating my IP address, but even that is giving trouble. It will work for a few hours and then stop, I then have to go onto my Getflix account and update the IP again, even though the IP hasn't changed, after which it will work for another few hours. Very strange.
Strange alright, I have fixed IP address/Getflix but my sister has DDNS setup with noip.com/Getflix.. I checked her setup last night and all working OK including BBC iPlayer
Got it working again. I had to log in to my Getflix account, remove the DDNS account and add it again. No idea why, but it's working again.
Hi

Christ, it was 6 months free and I got it to 2027, how long were you tapping in the codes?
I sent in a complaint and they said:

Hello xx
We don't have any other reports for Disney+ US access nor local version access, so we can assume that this is an isolated case, hence, we're trying narrow down the issue.
They have given me a ridiculous amount of things to try and screenshot. To which I replied that's a lot of work and I have read it's a common issue. Then they replied the above.
Does anyone else have proof they have complained? I would like to email it back to them.
Stacksocial have a lifetime Getflix Sub for 49 US dollars. 10% off if you create a new Stacksocial account.
I got this reply in Dec 2020.
Thank you for the email. As per our network team, we can support only the US version of Disney+ and due to technical difficulties we do not plan to extend said service to different countries.
You need to remove the Smart DNS servers to stream your local Disney+ region.
Please let me know if there is anything further I can do to help :).
Please provide feedback on my performance with the link at the end of this email.
Thank You!

That's rubbish! I'd rather they just add a disney plus dashboard like they do for amazon and netflix so you can turn it off to use your local library. It's such a kerfuffle having to add and remove the dns servers all the time when you want to use their dns servers. Terrible customer service. I'm having to use a uk vpn all the time for disney plus now even though I live in the uk! What a joke eh.
