It doesn't matter what the North polls, it has to be agreed both sides of the border. Instead of SF trying to fix the issues in the North they think bundling it onto the Rep will solve all the issues, or get someone else to solve
In the recent polls in the Rep people said yes they would love a United Ireland BUT at no additional taxes. This is impossible because of the mess the North is in because of the likes of SF etc.
Also when you consider the high number of jobs in the public service in the North which would be made redundant once a United Ireland would happen that would be another huge expense that we cannot afford.
SF are aware of this and that is why SF have spent year dodging the question and not answering what would happen in a United Ireland.
What SF and supporters should be doing is try to resolve the issues in the North, not waffling about a United Ireland. Instead as we see on this thread, not a single discussion about the issues in the North and how SF are resolving them. Nah it's go on about a United Ireland and hope someone else does

Also the poll is just a reflection of the change in Northern Ireland with the Catholic community growing, what the parties should be doing is making sure divides are not created in Ireland, trying to bring communities together. But no chance that will happen unless the likes of the Alliance contonue to grow
If you can control the polls, you can control the narrative, this will suck up apathetic voters who just follow the perceived trend.

I am not trying to speak for the poster but just giving my opinion. It was a statement and I didn't see them say it was a fact, as I said a quick google would back up their opinion. Not sure why you need data?

What exactly is the issue with the statement? if you google leaving a gift in will you see loads of links to RNLI, charities. Majority refer to charity. Plenty of solicitors who will offer advice
None mention a political party. It's not that hard to check this out.

Oh 100%, I seen it going on. When I lived in the North the catholics didn’t fear the RUC or the unionist. It was the PIRA they feared.
As I posted above the punishment beatings was just because of drugs or something else. Someone looked at someone wrong in a pub and that was a beating type thing.
Now I’m not saying the RUC etc where angels but the biggest fear was getting on wrong side of the PIRA
This is very common from Sf who throughout the 1990s on words would bully the life out of anyone up North who would run against their own. I recall a situation of a well-liked and esteemed family Dr who decided to run against a well know big name Sf'er. This is about 20 years plus back. The Sf and their lot of 'supporters' bullied the life out of the Dr [who was an independent and not part of any political party] to such a point he had to leave the area and never again went near the idea of being a politician. Kind of like what Hamas do in Palestine areas if you follow my meaning. It's done nowadays but with an unbelievable level of smiley menace. I would like to know who does all the training for those Sf brigades.
