Just looking at their website, I’m reading it as a separate/additional device being needed to enable dynamic power sharing?
https://support.wallbox.com/en/knowledge-base/how-to-activate-dynamic-power-sharing-for-your-charger/
Yes, a CT Clamp is used to tell the Wallbox to reduce its draw.
So if he turns the shower on while he's charging the unit will drop from 32a to a lower setting.
So i suppose the question is, Does the Zappi need a CT clamp to do this too? Or if its built in, then that is its superior feature?
The Zappi tech Sheet states "Dynamic Load Balancing: optional setting to limit current drawn from the unit supply or the grid".
Realistically, it will come down to price. The Zappi is near 1500 based on my calls last October, but that may vary county to county. The Wallbox is 1199 and they both do the same, including PV integration.
Cheers man, really useful info to know. I’m hoping a mate is going to do all the work. He’s going to supply whatever charger at cost and mates rates for installation.
I’m still waiting for a VIN to be assigned before I pull the trigger!
as of today
The grant is now open to homeowners to apply for a grant, whether they own an electric vehicle or not. This charge point can also be used for visitor use or at rented accommodation.

Guess I can get that sorted now before knowing when the car arrives exactly. Seems like a waste of money though.
Interesting. I can see how that would make it more attractive to people putting them into rental homes, B&Bs, guest houses etc. I'm holding tight until my VIN is assigned.
Have any Model 3 customers had delivery schedule appointments from Tesla as opposed to EDD's?
I still don't have a VIN assigned in the code, but just got a request to a complete a "Self Inspection Form" for my trade-in.
That's an automatic email that I've received a dozen times at this stage across the length of my order. Unfortunately I don't think it means anything other than your trade in details need to be completed on your account.
Perhaps I'm clutching at straws! I went through same process previously, shortly before placing my order back on 4th May. I did re-add my trade in details to my Tesla account a couple of weeks ago, so assume they are only getting around to doing the assessment now.
When I did my trade in details I went all the way to getting the assessment done and having the offer sitting there on my account without actually accepting it. And I still kept getting the emails and texts about it periodically because I hadn't clicked the final "Accept trade in offer" or something. Because I still wasn't sure if I was gonna sell privately. But my trade in was still being flagged as incomplete because I hadn't accepted the offer yet.
At any rate as stressful as it is not being offered a VIN yet I don't think the trade in process has much to do with shipping movements or cars being offered.
The SA I was talking to said that the exact delivery dates will be known very soon. (So excited to hear this)
We are paying cash (got AIB loan directly ourselves). And we will only get our car reg when they receive the final payment (this is because there could be a limit per day for bank transfer). 😓 So can't do the "inspect car first before we do the final payment" thing.
So we have to pay up to get car reg, which is needed by my insurance broker to get quotes for my car insurance.
Then on the day, we go to the hub and get paperwork done, inspect car, drive off. If we find anything wrong, we send it back (etc).
You never could collect or inspect without paying. Same for Reg. You inspect in the day and note any defects in the app they get sorted then.
Payment tin advance at all times with Tesla.
Insurance. Why don’t you pluck any Reg off DoneDeal to get the quote. Then at least you know what will be waiting for you or thereabouts.
I've been using the same brokers for years for my insurance (also was my father's and now the rest of my family's also), so I'm happy for them to take care of things for me, they already said they have a few Tesla owners as their clients.
Just wanted to share what my SA sent me today.
More so that our exact delivery dates are coming soon.
Insurance quotes should be readily available without VIN or registration. If you have a Broker working on it so much the better, but just so you are aware. Have been through this process myself..best of luck with car
I did read that insurance quotes for these can be high although I think that was uk. Has anybody noticed high quotes here vs ice cars?
No,,quotes were competitive but vary by company (individual profiles also impact so not meaningful to make comparisons here)
Same as ice then so nothing to worry about. I work for an insurance company (my role has nothing to do with car insurance) so get a fair bit off was just looking for others experience against ice.
Anyone had a tow bar fitted after delivery, either by Tesla or an aftermarket outfit? ‘22 Model 3 Standard here.
Like all insurance policies, it varies by person, profile and what risk the company want to take on that month.
I was paying €236 for a 420bhp Model S P85+, swapped to a 762bhp Model S P90DL and premium didn’t change. Swapped to a Model 3 Performance and premium jumped to €390.
Towbar must be ordered on order as its fitted in factory - change to behind the bumper. You order car as normal and then contact Tesla centre to ask for it to be put on order. its around €1350.
Note if you ordered a Performance you CANNOT get a tow bar fitted.
Just had my EDD pushed forward to August 17 - August 31. And the message on my account saying that they'd "reach out to schedule a delivery date soon".
Don't see a VIN yet though. Anyone else had that experience?
mine was pushed to August 19 - September 2 recently. No VIN on the account yet but found it with the Source code Chrome extension
Really hoping the trade in value that Tesla gave me a few months back holds somewhat for the new valuation! It’s the only sticking point for me at the moment..
They guarantee it for 60 days.
Have you reached out to them to update the trade in.
It may be gone up as that happened me twice.
Nevermind just got the text saying a car has been assigned to my order 😀 ! Hoping its the same @jusmeig ?
Ya I reached out to them, but they won’t provide new valuation until 30 days before delivery. Based on my current EDD and VIN in source code, that should come through over the next few days. On Friday I got an email to re submit all trade in details so we’ll see what happens!
That’s awesome! Hopefully others will get same notification soon….
Nope nothing yet 😔
But congratulations to you!
