Job done
Well done da lads
I'm kidding of course 😁 far to busy to be licking anything but my other pet bemused at the Skulduggery 😂
That's a nice rabbit you have there sur.
I am going to launch a "gofundme" for these poor lads having to get up at 4 in da morning, that's right 4, to go up and fight the good fight
At least the media knew the big story was with the lads, look at the excitement
Is this your attempt at deflection from the Govt getting caught out lying
Id give you 0.5/10,nothing about the shinners thrown in
Why are you posting this in a thread about FFG? Are the lads FFG members? You wouldn't be trying to drag the thread off topic and on a deflection course would you?
Deflection, deflection, deflection everywhere 🤣
What exactly am I deflecting from? a picture of a donkey? or the imaginary story posted here earlier?
I am posting it because the AIB was a topic of interest yesterday and some people on boards will be interested to see what their local TD did in this situation. As confirmed yesterday the opposition have no thread so as the AIB discussion was on this thread it was the best place
What exactly is the issue with that?
Lads and ladies, this is a major own goal. A major own goal by the government. I had my suspicions but this is damning. Even I am taken aback by it.
Government knew about AIB's cashless plans four days before move despite claims of being ‘blindsided’ - Independent.ie
Charlie Weston said they knew about it weeks ago and got the full details 4 days before. Yesterday I thought the optics were bad, today they are a complete disaster.
The perception is that FFG still have a very cosy relationship with the banks.
I wondered why Leo, Paschal and FG were remaining quiet on this. Interesting to see who turns up for interviews this weekend. This will not be forgotten.
Personally I've no issue, just pointing out the inconsistencies on the site.
On your above input, I think it's gone over your head to be fair, but you cannot see the stupidity in what you are posting.
1 So you've linked to that cesspit Twitter.
2 a tweet about opposition TDs demanding a meeting with AIB yesterday (check the timeline) which seems to be before AIB announced its u-turn.
3, can you post a link to any actual members of FFG demanding similar meetings with banking officials from AIB on behalf of the Irish electorate?
Seems the opposition actually achieved more than the gombeen men and women in govt did.
You really don't think anything through before posting stuff and believing you're on to a good thing.
You have no issue yet jumped on the post straight away, yet had no problem with all the previous posts including a picture of a donkey🤣
I linked to news corresponded on Twitter...not some randomer on twitter which is what I raised before
Do you have anything to add to the actual discussion?
I think you should read your own advice "You really don't think anything through before posting stuff and believing you're on to a good thing."
Now that your somewhat miraculously catching on to that Dastardly Twitter, how about some Saturday Morning Satire 😁
So do tell us, what relevance has opposition TD's trying to do something for the electorate they represent have?
Is it to show up the absolute disregard the government have for the electorate? ..because that is totally evident now.
I'm still awaiting a response from BA on Vivid Imagination Jibe earlier, and or anything at all to dispute the Time line and silence from the Minister actually responsible 🤔😁
With KBC and Ulster Bank leaving, the competition in Ireland in Banking is significantly reduced.
The Green party should be pushing for public banking.
https://www.greenparty.ie/policies/public-banking
A TD on Newstalk was blaming senior officials for not letting ministers know about the AIB plan. Nice blamestorming going on. I did not catch his name but I think he was FF.
Micheál's 'Shared Island' my gammy eye!
Allow Credit Union's offer the full gamut of banking services seems to me to be an obvious part of the solution.
Northern Ireland is part of the UK, the UK voted for Brexit. Should we also include someone from Scotland, Wales as well?
If I am correct she seems to be journalist who wants to turn politician, didn't get the votes in election and maybe looking for a handy number in Seanad? could be wrong and not trying to insult the lady. But her run in the assembly wasn't a massive success
Northern Ireland is 24 years now since the GFA, yet every election they vote in the same parties who do absolutely nothing. Only this election at least some people had to cop on to vote for the Alliance and they might get something done. Instead of pointing the finger at the government in the Rep why don't they ask what the hell all the politician in northern Ireland are doing?
The government put together a 3.5b cross border budget. Still waiting to see what the assembly has done, I would expect sweet f**k all as usual
This is a good and positive development from the government, a step in the correct direction at dealing with the long-standing issue of retirement.
So instead of increasing options in banking, just knuckle down on the ones already in place 🤦♂️
Astonishing, did this FF enquire of Paschal what he knew about, given his own officials were informed 4 days before the announcement 🤔
I'm surprised a FF TD at this nonsense, I'd expect this from the likes of Colm Brophy. FF TD'S need to start asking some questions of their Coalition colleagues.
Senior officials my arse, another example of the cart leading the Horse 😏
He said he believed his colleague Sean Fleming when he said he wasn't aware of the plan. That's why I assumed he was FF. AIB had let the officials know weeks ago and provided full details (numbers, branches) 4 days before the press release. This one will be very interesting.
What a tangled web they weave when....
I'll ignore the attempt to shoot the messenger again.
Here is what the FF party proposed:
FIANNA FÁIL HAS published a bill to reform the Seanad and broaden its electorate to allow everyone who is eligible to vote in Dáil elections as well as Irish citizens in the North and abroad to elect members for the upper house.
Launching the bill today, the party leader Micheál Martin said that his proposals are giving “the kind of fundamental reform that the people were looking for and that the people deserve” within the constraints of the current Constitution.
The bill proposes that 43 of the 60 seats would be elected through universal suffrage with everyone eligible to vote in the Dáil elections also able to vote for the Seanad.
Citizens living in the North, and anyone holding an Irish passport will also be able to apply to vote in the elections. The six university seats would be opened-up to allow all third-level graduates to vote – a reform already proposed by the current government.
The Taoiseach’s 11 nominees remain but he or she will be required to consider representation of the elderly, the young, the ‘new Irish’ community, the Irish diaspora, disabled people, sporting organisations, the arts and the Traveller community and consider persons nominated by interest groups in these areas.
The question needs to be asked, why has the Taoiseach who wants a 'Shared Island' not appointed anyone in 11 years?
Former NI Senators include Seamus Mallon, Gordon Wilson, Sam McAughtry, John Robb, Maurice Hayes.
Why no rep for 11 years when he is touting notions of a 'Shared Island'?
Please research the meaning of the words 'a part of'.
Then revert.
The current Taoiseach is in power for 2 years.
Has anyone applied from the north?
As usual it seems all problems in the North is the Rep fault and nothing to do with the actual Politicians in the north
Point the finger politics at play
plus as I said, the writer of the article failed to get into the assembly and now suddenly is talking about the Seanad, MM has praised her before so looks like she might be putting herself forward, if so why not come out and say it?
Also not sure how someone who managed 249 votes in the election would be a representative of the people of Northern Ireland, not many seemed to agree with her views.
A, I see , this will be fun to watch play out 😁 here's me thinking it would be a quite few weeks 😀
It is actually, and happy to agree 😏
Would agree. Next up, they need to legislate for mandatory private pension enrollment.
Should have been introduced years ago.
Refusing to deal with the issue and pointing fingers at others here is just your usual crude deflection techniques.
The Taoiseach has a much vaunted Shared Ireland vision, was leader when FF proposed reform, which included representation of NI citizens and even voting rights to the Seanad for NI citizens, BUT has not appointed anyone to the Seanad as Taoiseach nor proposed that somebody be while in C&S.
That's the issue, stop deflecting from it.
For your information De Souza makes no secret of her desire to be appointed as she feels her perspective and experience of the GFA is relevant. She said this as far back as 2020.
The assembly has delivered nothing in 24 years. This is just the latest in pointing the finger either at Westminster or at the Dail.
As I mentioned the government have put forward a massive fund to cross border initiatives.
Maybe the parties in Northern Ireland assembly for the last 24 years would like to comment on why they are so useless? well its not 24 years is it, how many years was it shut down while they sat at home on their arses doing nothing?
Try again Francie, blaming the Irish government for the mess up the North is not the answer
