How do you expect me to respond when you haven't withdrawn the false allegation that I was lying? Get outta here until you have enough self-respect to do the big thing and apologise.
You don't seem to understand the difference which MM explained in the video.
If the government was getting involved in day to day operations or "veto" as was asked for then the bank would not be separate. Something the government always said it wouldn't and shouldn't do.
As MM explained, the government was asked for advice and the advice was given to AIB not to remove cash from these branch's
Even if the government didn't own a percentage of the Bank, as one of the main banks in Ireland I would have expected them to have conversations with the government about their plans. After all AIB and BOI are critical to running Ireland.
Now I can't explain it any clearer than that, I do expect you to ignore or twist the post as is the case around here but that would just be embarrassing for you to be honest
I guess I'm in your Lot Francie, happy to be so 😏
Delicious 😁
Ok, I am sorry that I misunderstood you and took it to mean that 'my lot' is somehow not connected to me as well.
Now who is 'my lot' and where did they say Putin was a teddy bear?
You're both wrong. The government own 63.5%.
Also why is it ok for government to get involved in operation decisions like bankers pay??
No, they haven't sold the additional shares yet, at this moment they still have 68.5%.
Why? really you want to know why it's not good for a government to get involved in one of the main banks? Sorry I thought that was very obvious.
The calls of corruption from every quarter would mean be deafening.
The government intervened and called the bank in to explain themselves
AIB saw the explosion of protest and responded before the Government intervened, but that doesn't diminish the FACT they intervened.
It was obvious. There was a smell of desperation off the guff coming off of them.
This is a lie you heard.
The government are on the board. Asleep at the wheel, because they only found out a few hours before it was announced and after it was decided. All MM did was the statement he gave. Numerous TD's and councillors all over the country contacted Paschal and they were organising a meeting with AIB, that with 3 or 4 indies going into AIB headquarters demanding a meeting with the Head. It was then, they reversed it, again, unbeknownst to government until it was announced.
Laughable, you accuse a journalist of being wrong when you are wrong. It's a simple fact that you can check anywhere.
I want to know why it is ok for government to be involved in some day to day operational decisions like setting limits on bankers pay but not ok for them to influence other day to day operational decisions. Can't have it both ways.
Article is here. They plan to sell, I didn't see anything to confirm they had sold the shares.
If they have then I am incorrect. No need for hissy fit
I suggest you watch the video above. MM explains they gave advice. If you want to know anything else then plenty of articles around and if still uncertain contact your local TD and I am sure they can explain.
It is fairly clear to me why the government shouldn't be.

You and BA owe me at least 10 apologies at this point. Running away isn't apologising.
Before the lame response...Yes I know I am a shinner and a shinner bot and a SF shill and I love Mary Lou and Gerry Adams and I like guns etc etc.
😂
No hissy fit. Just pointing out that you shouldn't be correcting anyone when you don't know the facts either.
Do you have an alternative link to confirm the shares in AIB got sold by the government? I personally cannot find anything but more than happy to admit I was wrong. Would like to see how much they got
"waffle" "squirm" "run off crying" ""sunshine" "schooled" "no honour"
Literally 2 second search
It would have been much easier if you answered the very simple question. But alas...
Well their 'lot' blocked sanctions on putin and his friends money. Money always tops everything for that 'lot'.
I was wrong.
Makes it even worse for the journalist they had no idea that 2 sales of shares have happened and they don't know about it.
Doherty is bang on here in 2 & 3. The government has to be called to account on yet another embarrassing failure of oversight.
I think they can't stand anything anti government even satire.
100% correct 😏
King Pearse Canute speaks again.
You'd have to honestly wonder and I understand Government take a hands off approach to the running of AIB , that not a single executive didn't inform Paschal.
That's why the opposition have to, yet again, probe this to it's fullest and demand answers.
Very mature. You'll not address the points? Name calling. Well done.
A major share holder not being aware of such a decision means either the government were asleep at the wheel, disinterested or AIB didn't bother telling a major shareholder and board member of their plans.
What do you feel I "twisted"?
This is you commending "the govt for their involvement"
This is also you, 3 minutes later.
Clearly stating the government "does not get involved i [n the banks] operational decisions" you even finished off by saying "they shouldn't"
No twisting at all. You would literally argue and disagree with yourself.
Holy **** you learn something new everyday.
First bit, not surprising at all 😉
Second Bit Very surprising, almost Intriguing 😉
You literally could not write it.
Makes sense now ... A poster (cluedo monopoly) replied to a poster (Francie Brady) post about how the public forced a u-turn, similar to the black and tan controversy.
A poster then went on to try and dismiss that, by being contrary and giving credit to the government, who by their own admission (3 minutes later) acknowledged the govt "does not get involved" in what he previously gave them credit for.
Then goes on to try and say I'm twisting his sentiments.
Give me strength.
