It's really just beggar's belief, most of the morning discussing an obvious satirical account, I'm actually astonished at an attempt at censorship.

Irish politics has benefitted so much from satire. It's an institution in itself. The satirical geniuses of the past were able to say stuff that others were afraid to.

I am pretty sure that senior politicians in FF intervened to cancel the show after 3 successful years.
They are accountable to the local councillors that run them and the electorate who elect those local councils.
Pretty much that's how local government works.

Indeed and I believe our president and a particular RTE presenter took serious offence re Oliver Callan, and of course the Savage Eye mysteriously ended, it's creator not a bit shy at taking a satirical pop at FF despite being the son of a former prominent FF Politician and indeed a member of a very prominent FF family. One RTE contractor even accused the creator of Blasphemy, that was even funnier than the particular sketches that caused the offence.
So why is the state stepping in here to offer recompense? Why are they taking responsibility(albeit not adequate responsibility) for the regulatory f* up?
Don't know Francie, all I know is that mica compensation is ripping off taxpayers. If there was a party proposing to cancel it, I would vote for them, but all I see in the opposition are populists promising more.

How do people take "personal responsibility" for their homes crumbling?
Did the homeowners personally make the blocks that are crumbling, and then get a trowel and level out and start building their houses with them?

So tell us again, why is the government offering recompense if it isn't ultimately responsible?
You can't test blocks yourself blanch. The same as the trust you put in the food you put in your mouth. That it and building material are fit for purpose is 'expected' to be handled by central goivernment specifications and the regulation of those requirements.
The product should not have been on sale, stop trying to lay the blame elsewhere.

If you didn't spend so much being critical of posters and actual offered an actual opinion there may actually be some debate with you but all you do is deflect and as been proven time and time again , resort to unhelpful comments and criticism and whilst your at it make all sorts of wild assumptions and claim posters said things they didn't. You also pick an choose utterly semantic arguments and spend, hours trying to make something out of nothing, it's bewildering.

Not to drag this thread off topic, but you did say that the West are to blame for what happened in Ukraine and that 'They are both as bad as each other'. People can infer many things from that position.
