Grand. We'll leave at that so...after this...I don't know dogs. I tend to keep away from them. I've grown up with cats and know their signals. But, the whole educate kids on every animal is silly.

A cooing "ah leave the dog be" is not good enough. She's so great. Wouldn't harm a fly.

Two things could have been done here:

A stern voice to the child and removing the dog.

We where coming back from a walk and the kid appeared out of nowhere, normally I'd agree if a dog bites then it needs to be either moved on or put down. In this case the kid is tormenting dogs in his bike, outside from 8 or 9 in the morning until 10 or 11 at night. The kid and his mother has been told by me and other dog owners in the estate, that the kid is annoying dogs deliberately.

No, I'm not professional but I have had advice from highly qualified professionals who have been highly recommended on this thread in respect of my dog. Their professional advice is of more value than the trolls trying to stir because its a slow news day.

Would you not expect this important human to recognise when any animal doesn't want to be approached? Dogs don't growl when they're relaxed and comfortable around someone, so if a dog growls at you it's time to back away. It was a 13 year old and the OP should have stepped in.
