Clerical Officer in the Civil Service 2022 | Civil Service - publicjobs.ie
References are only a box checking excercise. If they mattered they be looked at before the interview.
I'm pretty much on the same timeline too for dublin
I'm pretty much on the same timeline as you for dublin
Oh brill. Have you gotten your official offer?
I was told what dept I'm going to be placed but nothing firmer yet in relation to start date or location of office. It's still a bit vague, I thought I'd have more concrete info about it by now. Is it the same for you?
They're very secretive. They don't give much away. I was told what department I was getting about 4 weeks ago (before Garda vetting). I was just told last week my location and start date.
It would be a Customs Officer position.
Hi @BoatGirlDolly , glad to hear things are moving on for you all be it slowly. I sent off my Garda E-Vetting last Tuesday, how long did your Vetting take? Also is it after the garda Vetting that you hear about department?
I'm off work at the moment and would love at least another month off before getting started in a new place
Do you know how far up onbthe panel in longford they are
Vetting was back within a week I think. Vetting turnaround depends on how many addresses you have had I think 🤔 the references took the longest for me as I was waiting for multiple employers to return it to the clerk I was dealing with at PAS. Are you dublin?
I have been checking the tracking since I sent it and it hasn't moved from received by NVB. Maybe I'll contact them as I've only ever had 2 addresses and one employer the last 21 years so it shouldn't be too long . Yes I'm in Dublin.
Some people are saying they find out their department before Vetting, I haven't been told and when I asked I was told its always after Vetting! Maybe different locations do it differently.
Just got an email that i have been provisionally appointed to the House of the Oireachtas. Anyone else being appointed here? It says the hours can be late. any idea how often they are late hours?
the Dail sits Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday when not in recess. These can go on til 11 or afterwards. Dunno how they rota it with the staff
Hi
Just wondering how many previous employers do they require references from do you know
Thanks
As me !
I had to give a statement from where I worked the last year and I know they defo contacted 3 places. Told me about 2 and then I heard from the person giving the reference that they had been contacted too
'all employments within the last 3 years'
How long are people wanting to receive contract? Spoke early last week got my start date, they said would be in contact with further information and contract etc but nothing received yet
I don't suppose anyone has advice if a a previous employer in the past is a bit difficult and you're not sure if you can get a reference?
It’s a very long drawn out process. What does final vetting application look like when track…… I see disclosure viewed x
I was contacted the day after disclosure was viewed. Got a phone call today about how much notice I need to give my current employer. I am essentially picking my own start date.
I'm the same. Got a call last Thursday with location and start date. They said id receive email within a week with contract etc. A week tomorrow and no email.
Disclosure viewed is the final step. A day or two after that, they will email you to confirm it's ok to contact your employer for reference. Once reference received it was just another day or two before I got a call with location and start date.
I'm in the same boat. Waiting for the contract to come. We agreed on a start date so I assume it will all happen before then.
My boss home later from honeymoon! That’s the final step. He has the paperwork already !!!
Anyone know how far they are up for longford whst number
Completed stage 1 questionnaire and got placed 15th on order of merit. Is this good?
Definitely gone past the 60s in batch 3.
Hi, you would be a Customs Officer at CO level. I made this move a year and half ago, from an EOI to the CO panel. Interesting work, but shift work is difficult. Hope this helps
Anyone know how long it takes for references to be completed, and time frame to getting a start date once you start clearance? I don't have to do vetting because I'm in Cs already, so that should reduce time I hope? Am so desperate to get out of my current position
