Hi, I'm on saas as well but I've not got eddi so myenergi not an option. Ive not got goodwe inverter but the installer put in a goodwe energy monitoring device.
You can ask them to setup an account for you on the goodwe portal. however from the inverter you will only see what it produces, not what the house is consuming.
So that's not a great alternative.
Seems myenergi is supported in home assistant if you are willing to put in the effort to set it up.
Ive everything setup in home assistant here but it has taken a bit of time.
Folks, got an install here last week, 6.6kw of panels, last three days averaging over 30kw per day, reading back over thread trying to ascertain given the optimum weather are they good numbers , we per the user name in Sligo
Thanks
East west facing? Sounds like my system
Thanks we are slightly SE facing
The other day was quite underwhelming in the end with cloud cover from the afternoon onwards.
Predicted 45kwh - actual 33.6kwh
Clouds rolled in. I'm down to 70W generation power on my 4.5kWp array. 😫
Generation stopped entirely (0W) for 7 minutes here! Impressive thunder and lightning all the same.
Very hot yesterday, hot panels barely got over the 4kW mark
I was still getting 7w, impressive...
@deravarra Actually seems that if your goodwe inverter is a hybrid, then it can report consumption / export.
Same here, thunder and lightning, and gen dropped to practically 0.
Shocker. Down from 27.3 yesterday to 13.1 today. Still - delighted with the install.
Went from having my best day yesterday to having my worst day today. My system only managed a paltry 19.3kwh today. The joys of the Irish weather.
33.7 yesterday, 6.9 today including a long spell generating a lofty 7w.
I think that's 0.7w actually 😅
Nope.
DrPhil , I see your in Donegal, we produced 12.7 yesterday in Sligo , as mentioned 6.6kw SE facing , doesn't look like we'll be setting any records today
Correct, for some reason I thought I saw three zeroes there after the decimal point 😅
12.8kWh produced yesterday, had to buy 2kw off the grid 😭
My battery ran out just on midnight last night. Had to charge it overnight just in case today was another stinker.
13kWh bought. 😭
Did you charge it fully or partially ?
And how's the decision looking ???
Partially, left home this morning with the battery at 62%.
Of course sod's law, today is a lovely day so the battery is now full, Eddi maxed and starting to export. I'll be home in 45 minutes though, turned on the heater in the hall in the meantime.
Can you up the temp stat on your hot water cylinder? that would take more excess
I think I need to get a mixer. My water will be roasting now but I think the immersion only gets the top of the tank.
Then if you look at getting a plumber in to add a mixer / anti scald valve, then look too for a Willis Heater to heat the WHOLE tank
I've read here that if the panels get too hot their generation drops. Given the hot weather lately, and people with batteries and inverters in their attic does the same happen with them, efficiency drops, or do they shut down if they get too hot?
I'm currently waiting for my install and the battery and inverter are going into the attic, my attic gets roasting in the summer normally nevermind the last few days.
@Daveq I posted this over in the troubleshooting page earlier.
On Monday my inverter temp hit 67.5 which was nuts. I placed a fan underneath it, and this was today's graph.
Never went over 43.5° all day.
As @DrPhilG said, have a look here at his set up in this thread https://www.boards.ie/discussion/2058101518/solar-pv-hints-tips-troubleshooting/p103 post #3076 Most people are using automated fans or smart plugs on them.
I'm all for using as many units as you could before exporting. But do you mean you actually turned on the heating in the house?
Is this a brutal month or what ???
