I'm about 100kWh ahead of the last few months (Since March).. I think its going good
My 30 day moving average has actually ticked up over the last few weeks. I do this graph to smooth out the ups and downs, basically this plots at any given day I can see what was my average production was, over the last 30 days (month). I also do a 7 day moving average. So from the end of march to now I have been averaging around 25kWh/day on my 6.1kWp system but that has increased to around 27-28 kWh/day over the last week or two
Sun finally faded out at 9:15pm, 36.2kWh for the day.
12.4kWh into the car, ran washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, filled the hot water and the battery, exported 0.7kWh.
I have only got my PV running this week and have had the heatpump cooling the house during the day since then. Would never consider turning on the heating in July.
Currently exporting 4.6kW at 10:05 in the morning, even with the HP on. Great to see that much output but need to control/store it.
in July?
30.8 here in Sligo today
Better day today, 23.4kWh.
Rough morning, brightened up well in the afternoon.
And with evenings like this, it's back to the days of still drawing 300w at 9pm.
Forecast is good tomorrow. Its been a pig of a month. Mind you we're due 4 days of rain afterwards.
Yup. I have a 2kW ceramic heater and a 2kW oil one.
If it's not overly hot and I'm exporting, I'll turn one or both on.
Statistically I'm running 71% right now of expected production for July - so considering it's the 21st of the month, I guess I'm slightly ahead here in Dublin. That said, I can't remember the last time that I had a smooth curve on the charts. It's been weeks!!
It was going great here in Limerick tbh - on pace to match Mays 700ish... but 3 days now under 20 in a row... so probably only match junes numbers.
Is this a brutal month or what ???
I'm all for using as many units as you could before exporting. But do you mean you actually turned on the heating in the house?
As @DrPhilG said, have a look here at his set up in this thread https://www.boards.ie/discussion/2058101518/solar-pv-hints-tips-troubleshooting/p103 post #3076 Most people are using automated fans or smart plugs on them.
@Daveq I posted this over in the troubleshooting page earlier.
On Monday my inverter temp hit 67.5 which was nuts. I placed a fan underneath it, and this was today's graph.
Never went over 43.5° all day.
I've read here that if the panels get too hot their generation drops. Given the hot weather lately, and people with batteries and inverters in their attic does the same happen with them, efficiency drops, or do they shut down if they get too hot?
I'm currently waiting for my install and the battery and inverter are going into the attic, my attic gets roasting in the summer normally nevermind the last few days.
Then if you look at getting a plumber in to add a mixer / anti scald valve, then look too for a Willis Heater to heat the WHOLE tank
I think I need to get a mixer. My water will be roasting now but I think the immersion only gets the top of the tank.
Can you up the temp stat on your hot water cylinder? that would take more excess
Partially, left home this morning with the battery at 62%.
Of course sod's law, today is a lovely day so the battery is now full, Eddi maxed and starting to export. I'll be home in 45 minutes though, turned on the heater in the hall in the meantime.
Did you charge it fully or partially ?
And how's the decision looking ???
My battery ran out just on midnight last night. Had to charge it overnight just in case today was another stinker.
13kWh bought. 😭
12.8kWh produced yesterday, had to buy 2kw off the grid 😭
Correct, for some reason I thought I saw three zeroes there after the decimal point 😅
DrPhil , I see your in Donegal, we produced 12.7 yesterday in Sligo , as mentioned 6.6kw SE facing , doesn't look like we'll be setting any records today
Nope.
I think that's 0.7w actually 😅
33.7 yesterday, 6.9 today including a long spell generating a lofty 7w.
Went from having my best day yesterday to having my worst day today. My system only managed a paltry 19.3kwh today. The joys of the Irish weather.
Shocker. Down from 27.3 yesterday to 13.1 today. Still - delighted with the install.
Same here, thunder and lightning, and gen dropped to practically 0.
@deravarra Actually seems that if your goodwe inverter is a hybrid, then it can report consumption / export.
