So you don't see any connection between the first two paragraphs of the article and the third paragraph you've quoted?
Property Investors you say. 🤔
Good debate on the Tonight Show. Its pretty clear that despite 12 Green TDs in government, the government will fail miserably on their own Climate Action Plan. They will not be able to agree legally binding targets and they spend most of their time talking about trivial stuff like turf. Jennifer Whitmore (SD) spoke very well.
This is what it says and from what I read this is referring to developers building permanent housing and not about these leased houses.
"Last week, the Housing Agency said in a plea issued to developers and property investors that the state needed to “expedite additional permanent social housing” between now and 2025 ..."
You're more than welcome ☺️
Now tell me, did you watch the Connolly video?
Talk about grasping at straws now.
Why would you think they are temporary?
It says "permanent social housing" in the part of the article that's free to read.
Permanent but we'll lease them. Doesn't add up
I shared a link that looked at houses blocked around the country and the majority of the reasons were as stated.
You want no regulation, ignoring of planning regulations and crony deals. You are the wide open welcoming flap of the Galway tent in other words.
Yes and we have somebody here advocating for it to happen again. Shameful.
16 story apartments were blocked in Dundrum IIRC FG constituency.
2.8 Billion. Criminal.
You shared a link complaining about the amount of houses, not the opposition are not blocking houses. Already explained this to you
It's not a victory because they have blocked less houses than the government said, which you somehow think it is. Blocking any houses just for political gain is awful and especially when we are talking about thousands
How many people will the opposition want on the street before they will stop? how many will you want on the street before you contact them and ask them to stop?
10,000? 20,000? 50,000?
No. I said we had the worst in the world at one point, then I put a full stop. The rest is all you B.
Cut the made up shite. Your heart didn't go out far enough to want to pay student nurses who worked the front line.
The rest is full on shovels of 'oh the humanity', while amusing, neither believable nor credible.
You don't know the meaning of the word 'lie'. You really don't. There is no lie in anything I said. You made a claim that they didn't follow through, thats closer to a lie than my saying we do not know.
So just a general waffle, no examples of houses being blocked with no reason. Figured.
By the deaths, the rates, the clifden golf piss up, the Garda funeral, the saying music festivals are a bad idea and we won't be following the UK, then going to a festival in the UK. That arguing with NPHET, the opening at Christmas against advice. Quoting mean girls for a bet while addressing the nation about covid deaths. The 14 million to a gig promoter for not fit for purpose ventilators... I could go on.
FF/FG always quick with the 'Its worse elsewhere' except that time it wasn't.
Oh I thought they had changed the venue and the lobby audience from Developers to Bookies.

Among those attending was Fine Gael TD for Wexford and former defence minister Paul Kehoe. When contacted, he refused to comment and insisted that he was there in a personal capacity. ‘I’m not squealing on anyone else who was there,’ the former Fine Gael chief whip added. The others who attended included Fine Gael senator and former social protection minister Regina Doherty, Fine Gael TD for Clare Joe Carey, Fianna Fáil TD for Tipperary Jackie Cahill, Fianna Fáil senator Paul Daly and Fine Gael senators Garret Ahearn, Martin Conway and John Cummins.
New Politics, alive and well!
Another 2b for CT apartments too. lite touch regulation in regards to fire inspections.
How is it rubbish. Read the link I sent you, the claim that SF blocked 6000 is 'misleading' and you are continuing to try and mislead about it.
The houses were mostly blocked because of bad planning and cronyism.
The very thing that is going to cost us 2bn + to fix just some of the mess. MICA where government regulation abysmally failed will cost more, not to mention what has been paid for the Pyrite f* up.
That should not be allowed to happen again and crony developers and pariah builders and their enablers(like yourself) need to realise that and those with a duty to review these applications should be applauded for saving us money and heartache in the future.
*And I see when it comes to a government f* up the time lock plea for leniency comes in again. ROFL
While the country went to work, and enjoyed the glorious weather, the resident perma whingers ranted on their keyboards.
Dawn to dusk, 365.
The FF tent was last seen in 2007 was it? 15 years ago now 😂
Try and stay a little relevant to the topic
It's for social housing. As it is behidn a paywall I don't see much detail
It's 1,000 units so potentially as I said it is short term because they have already outlined houses in these areas and are been built.
Of the estates already include social housing units and these are just temporary, I am sure the plan was to move away from large communities of social housing and have mixed.
I don't know, but many reason why they are renting instead of buying.
What doesn't help is the rejection of developments for tactically politics which we are seeing going on. It is like a merry go round at the moment, block houses, complain about no houses been built, block houses, government rent houses, complain about government renting houses.
To me some people are parties are only interested in increasing the number of people caught up in the housing crisis and have no consideration at all for the pain this is causing. As I sadi before, the government came out and asked the opposition to stop and work with them.
Also, lets say new government is formed as some want, whats the stop the new opposition doing the exact same shi*e?? just one big circle....
How NI did or France or wherever does not mean the slightest thing to those who died here due to mistakes and ignoring of warnings.
Stop the campaign which is only designed to absolve the government from blame.
They got some things right, but they got enough wrong and enough people died and suffered as a result to not dignify their performance with a clap on the back.
Christ almighty, give me patience.
How do you know whether the government has done well or badly in relation to COVID except by comparing to other jurisdictions?
If they ever introduce a truth law for boards, you will be well and truly exposed.
oversll, we did handle it well, as seen by how excess deaths per capita were lower here than elsewhere. All your bullish!t on this topic is nauseatingly disrespectful to the reality of what happened to people, disrespecting of the great job done by HSE staff, and stupidly ignorant to top it all.
Of course they would be getting grief from a cohort here, who just keep shouting and refuse to see the detail every time they hear the word 'block'.
Even it would never have been built I have shown that its not just the opposition that are blocking housing. But I do agree with why Emer Higgins opposed it just as I do agree with why the opposition oppose some housing too.
You haven't shown that at all. It would never have been built even if it was approved.
True but I am showing its not just the opposition that is blocking housing applications. If SF had blocked the above they would be getting grief.
FFS The majority of houses were blocked because they were badly planned or were crony developments.
It's gas how you keep trying this pro Government nonsense.
The FF Galway tent is not coming back and a housing crisis is no excuse to try it on
The only person talking about throwing them under the bus is you. Frontline staff have done exceptional work in difficult circumstances and they are not to blame. They also had to deal with limited or non existent PPE, and not enough beds because of years of government incompetence and mismanagement of the HSE.
Nobody has said we should be letting people sit on the street.
Why can't the government buy the houses instead of renting them? At least then the State would have something to show for the money at the end of the leases.
These are new build houses and as you correctly point out we can only build x amount of houses per year due to various constraints so yet again government policy is hampering the sale of houses to first time buyers or the wider private market. Mullen Park Maynooth all over again.
I've been watching it but didn't want a certain person upset by posting to many "Gufflinks" 🤣
