This is the greatest thing I have ever witnessed in irish politics. I have been stunned for years, about how the standard of politics and politicians here can be so low. Varadkar is a fraud, all talk... every party here wants to and does throw the workers under the bus. Karma has come. Doesnt matter what ffg do now. Things will only get worse for them, some of it obviously due to circumstances outside of their control. But this faith, has been coming for decades. Looks like D day is nearly upon us...

Mc Grath just seems to want to be liked by everyone, especially within FG , the love fest between him and Paschal is vomit inducing to watch. He seems to lack ambition to be leader , quite content as long as he has a Job in Cabinet. But to be fair to him , he seems to have a real grasp of what's going on , the rest just all over the place .
Turkeys voting for Christmas and there is no bigger turkey than McGuinness, possibly the most overrated politician of his generation.
Mc Guinness a little cleverer than some make out and your 100% correct and despite the Mob on Twitter brigade, more will see this on Twitter than anywhere else , especially Leo's communications Team 😏
McGrath never struck me as the sharpest knife in the drawer, but then not a lot of people in FF do. Michael has more sleeveen skills than most of them to have survived this long however and it will be difficult to replace him without the lack of political nous resulting in destroying the party some more. 'There will be blood'
The funny thing is that more people will follow this on Twitter now than in the dead trees media. It is a much of a muchness statement by McGuinness but the message is clear for Martin: step down. McGuinness is clever enough to make the suggestion appear to be for the good of the FF party rather than to target Martin directly and having Martin step down would eliminate a messy power struggle. Perhaps they can arrange for Martin to be made the EU ambassador to Ukraine. It might be safer there for him there. :)

Ah, so it's John McGuinness, who's always had loud and often very empty opinions on things. He was quite the tool as chair of PAC and he was a Minister of State in the ill-fated 2007 government. He has quite the track record of criticising people. Can't say that the opinion of a cranky 70 year old, who will very likely step down, is worth bothering with either. Not exactly an eye on the future with McGuinness now 67. You'd imagine that they could all get together in a room somewhere and work out what FF means. That said they really should know better than to be chatting to the media about it.
Organise it. Have somewhere to put them. Don't bring them in to sleep on airport floors or shared tents. Plan ahead for once.
You persist in ignoring the criticism regarding the housing crisis and poor planning by government. A government that can't but make various crises worse has absolutely no business inflicting themselves upon a people seeking asylum just for EU 'likes'.
It's Kind of Ironic, Leo thought a week ago he was in the Clear, MM looking forward to his Hols , the MONC result relieved some pressure, What could possibly go wrong apart from Baggage going missing at Dublin Airport.
Then all hell breaks out , refugee crisis , a debacle of Governments own making , Naughty Back Benchers in both FFG started speaking out , now requests for a review and MM and Leo having none of it .
They may think ignoring the Electorate, generally is fine but they'll ignore Back Benchers at their peril. It would be deliciously Ironic if FF back benchers put a stop to Leo's ambitions. And finally another shocking poll , they say a week in politics a long time , it would seem a day is a long time in Politics on Ireland.

If there is to be a split in FF, it will be between the FG collaborators like Martin and those who still think that FF has a future as a party. The real FFers seem to be those who do not have cabinet positions. O'Cuiv was removed as deputy leader of FF by Martin for campaigning with an SDLP candidate in the North.
If there is to be a leadership challenge, Michael McGrath could be in danger of being seen as been one of Martin's supporters rather than a real FFer. If he is to have any hope in a leadership election to replace Martin, he will have to play this very carefully.

It didn't 'stay' a secret. It was organised in secret from other party members. Every single media outlet has reported that this is what happened. But you persist, predictable.

Seems FF is peopled by an awful lot of stupid people. More likely they want something from MM. Are these the same people who fancy a deal with SF? Getting to 2024-25 as a government in theory allows them to present a more rosy outlook on housing, Jan-Feb 2023 does not.

Yes but we're still a long way out from the election and FF have not even clarified their position on coalition with SF yet. Plus FG have to bite their tongues about the issue if they want the current government to last.
But once the starting gun is fired on the election FG will quickly turn their faces as blue as their shirts repeating ad nausaeum "A vote for anyone except us is potentially a vote for SF" Then we'll see if middle Ireland flocks to the FG banner...

FG remind me of the DUP with this strategy. Righteous indignation and high moral ground head in the sand politics. A refusal to see that maybe it is you (FG) that is the problem.
Strategically they don't seem to have a clue.
A policy to "ban summer" would probably "get votes" from some of our population, however FG would want to have a bit more substance to them than a "we don't like SF".
Don't take my word though. The polls are not your friend here. Consistently polling one direction year on year.
Their current trajectory is one of doom and obliteration.
Don't forget they were essentially FG's lackeys for the previous government with the cas arrangement,. There are bound to be many FF TD's who are sick to the teeth of backing the FG incopetence and mouthpieces (they have their own to worry about). They couldn't vote against MONCs, nominate ministers, had to agree with government spending (e.g. the ludicrously priced childrend hospital) and more.

Running on that alone will get them votes :-)
Some FGers also want a review of the programme for government but Martin and Varadkar have ruled it out. The FGers are Charlie Flanagan and Regina Doherty so no high-profile FGers are involved yet.
It may be just the media Silly Season and FGers looking for attention. With FF, things are a bit worse in that there seems to be a momentum building to to get rid of Martin. Varadkar's declining popularity, as has been seen in various opinion polls, may have FGers worried that he will repeat another great Varadkar victory and lose more seats for FG at the next GE.
Seems there's a spot of bother in the FF camp.
Leo isn't home and hosed by any stretch of the imagination.
