I think Boardsmaster broadly agrees with my point , his intention was not to rinse anyone , so you are being a bit unfair to him , He was merely correcting an error I made , which though a bit pedantic , I accept . He gets the jist of what I’m saying .

If he is standing on the 12th tee on Sunday within a shot or 2 of the lead he will have answered all of the above.
I can’t see him getting over the final hurdle though and winning.

If he plays great for four days, there would be no need for criticism at all. But if he implodes, firstly, it’ll be true, secondly, if it did happen, every golf commentator and journo would call it exactly the same, another opportunity missed, and another major less year, it wouldn’t be me “telling you so”, it would be history repeating itself.
But why are you focusing on me instead of commenting on the good play of the player in the thread title? Does my opinion bother you that much that you ignore the player?

I’ve literally mentioned his good play a number of times yesterday and this morning. You on the other hand are just ******** it up, calling out a poster in advance of what might happen.

Thought it was strange the commentators on Sky yesterday were saying Rory can be the new Tiger, of this generation.
When Tiger was Rory's age, he had won 14 majors.

The fact that the drive on the first hole must be as easy as any course on the planet is great for Rory, there's nothing in the immediate to stress about. I'm hopeful, would love to see him do it in St Andrews.

Great 3 days but 70 on the final day no where good enough given how course was playing . Everyone in top 15 went well below that for final round
Savage weeks golf again from McIlroy, the way he's playing is unbelievable stuff

Basically took an amazing round from Smith to win it, Rory did very little wrong. Pleasure to see him playing
Well tbf young had a great round and came 2nd. Thought 70 was a bad score today.
To put it another way, he was 3 shots off the win
Delighted for Cam - but very depressed for Rory - you basically only get one or two chances to win at St Andrews.
Solid year in the majors but still missing something...I think a change if caddy would be good for him..
Yes this one in particular will sting, he was playing so well aswell maybe the scars of missed majors haunted him, I think he played a bit too conservative, unreal putting from Cam though and Rory does seem back to his best this year so not all bad.
