Where does this government fail consistently? Planning.
Some capacity planning was needed weeks ago. But every single time it's clear that the government never do any detailed planning. It's always reactionary.
Same with the Climate Action Plan. All headlines, no substance.
On your 3rd point, we treat them better than any other EU country is. They're getting a much higher payment here than other countries. Some countries are even cutting refugees off if they don't get work after a period of time.
If we did same as somewhere like France and treated them the same, it'd be a lot easier to defend the amount we're accepting.
Who has said send them to Rwanda? Nobody on here has.
If we are running out of room at the inn, what do we do? Keep taking them in hoping for a miracle as we await another magic money tree to appear?
How would we be a pariah in the EU? We have taken in Ukranians and the EU will understand if we can't take anymore as we are running out of accommodation.
Where do you suggest we house them?
The only right thing they can do is resign but we all know that won't happen as who will take care of the Ukrainian Refugee crisis?

I would add the emotive rubbish that there is 'only a choice to leave or die'.
It seems since May, many Ukrainians have been able to return, and are returning at a rate of about 30,000 a day. Which really begs the question how are we getting so overloaded. It's almost as if this government are actively trying to create problems. Maybe it will hide all of their other crap, who knows what they're up to..

I'm not convinced you have the qualifications or expertise that may be required to list all of the alternatives that are actually available, as I believe that there would be many more than 3.
I would also discount the 3rd straight away anyway, as much nonsense as the other 2 are, that is just absolute horse crap.
So, to repeat myself, what I asked was, Do you think we should keep taking them in without a cap, regardless of room or conditions - unconditionally?
Remember when the FFG politicians were virtue signalling how they would offer accommodation in their own homes to Ukranian refugees? How did that work out?
And those FFG politicians with multiple houses, did they donate some of those properties for use by refugees?
The whole thing is a mess made worse by incompetent FFG politicians. It may have escaped your notice but there is a housing crisis in Ireland.

A thundering disgrace to see the government digging their heels in re public sector pay increases. Unsurprisingly the public sector unions threatening industrial action as FFGG go on holidays. My message to the govt re budget is forget tax cuts that only serve to benefit those at the top and thus increasing inflation, and give low and middle income earners a deserved pay rise, in line with inflation. Can this government ever do the right thing?
Funny you mention, Ukranians can move from other countries, they actually have from numerous COUNTRIES (EU member states) they'd already moved to for months and then onto to Ireland, one has to wonder why that was, its almost like some are doing a tour of Europe,
We've even had arrivals from exotic places such as Miami of all places and already admitted Ukranian refugees, going back and forth to what is supposed to be a war Zone.
Genuine Ukrainian refugees were welcomed, the absurd EU directive included other nationalites allegedly impacted. There's been no Checking, controls or even verifications of who's being let in, not even a passport is required and almost 6 months in, it's still the case, it's extraordinary.
Don't try to pretend it's about not letting Genuine Ukrainian refugees in, this has been a free for all shambles, totally out of control, a bottomless pit of resources thrown at it and few believed for a moment it wouldn't reach the farce it has now.
Laughing emojis, pretty much sums up a complete lack of empathy and understanding of what is really going on, deflect away, this is happening wether you accept it or not and it's this government who've actually encouraged this shambles to happen.

The Ukranian Refugee crisis has shone a light on the governments housing policy, something the government would like to avoid. The government has said nobody could anticipate the war in Ukraine. What they are not saying is nobody could anticipate the war in Ukraine and it is showing up our woeful government policies.
Indeed anything to deflect but of course the Governments handling of the Ukranian Refugee crisis only just one of many on going debacles 😉

Going into government is not a prize awarded by the electorate, the electorate will hand out the prizes when they are finished in government. After the last government, the electorate expressed their verdict and the parties of the C&S government didn't win the popular vote. They campaigned on the one hand saying they would never coalesce and that electing Martin would be like putting John Delaney back in charge on the other.
Getting into government is a prize you get if you can negotiate a programme for government with others. Nothing to do with the electorate and a different thing altogether.
FG neither won the election nor the popular vote.
