Great Bargains - plenty items discounted by 80%
Sports direct has a constant sale on, just liktye closing down sales that last an eternity in furniture shops all over Ireland.
Do not believe the hype. The prices will be the same as they were anyway.
Still good prices on some items to be had though. Spent €200 there recently.
Agree that SportsDirect always has some sort of promotion going on but this one seems better than most. A few items I picked up were a steal...
€6.99 delivery for delivery to local store... any way to get this reduced/waived without buying €50 worth of stuff?
"constant sale with fake rrp prices too"
Legally, no. The trick is that they have non-SD websites where the goods are "sold" at a much higher price, ie anyone is silly enough to buy them from there.
For instance, their Lonsdale (they own the brand name) trainers are advertised on www.lonsdale.com @ £59.99 and more. So they can advertise them on SD at "70% off" for £18.
Legal, but total scam. 🤬
Can you provide links to these non-SD websites?
Are SD allowed to advertise an item being a previous price, if it wasn't them?
www.lonsdale.com
SD own the brand, so presumably they own this website also. The website shows the "RRP". SD just sell at a discount of their choice below this RRP
Their delivery price is very high .. even for in store collection.
Anyway to check if an item is in store online?
Here's a video on TJ Max in the USA which explains some of the tricks used by TK Max, SD and others.

If you get an item delivered to the store, but its the wrong size etc, you can return it to the store.
But if you get the item delivered to your home, and you want to return it, you have to send to England.
Sorry for bumping thread but is this still the case?
Decent sale at minute - ordered a few Superdry shirts and I'm between a medium and a large, so ordered bigger but curious if you're still able to return to store if you collect from store.
Site seems a bit a vague on the matter.
No it's hidden in help section . See copy paste of it "Unfortunately, we are unable to return orders bought online in store, including click & collect orders."
Thanks for that. Think I did spot that somewhere alright.. madness really!
Usually returns to stores are gift cards/credit notes only also. It's why I avoid this store like the plague. I'm not sure how they legally get away with that.
Distance selling regs don't take into account buying instore. Change of mind isn't a legitimate reason for refunding.
Wouldn't even mind if you could swap sizes but our local SportsDirect is very poorly stocked.
Also have you noticed price difference online to in store.. sometimes it can be considerably different and they won't match price
Pretty sure thats because the website is in GBP and is rebalancing to EUR.
Instore is just irish rip off pricing.
