Must be the rainy day fund that seemed to be the reason for lack of spending on services for Irish people in 2017.
What do you want to do with them? Send them back to the warzone or send them to Rwanda? Those are the other options available, and they would be a lot worse off. Is that how you want to treat people?
Not true, Leo went into government after the last election because certain parties were unable to step up to the task. They thought they were winners, but couldn't stop acting like losers.
So we should be telling people fleeing war in Europe to bring a sleeping bag with them? The callousness of that post is shocking.
Ireland does have a disaster on its hands, it is a disaster of a war started by the 21st century despot Putin. Like the rest of Europe, we are the targets of that war by Putin.
As I have said before Leo only wants to go into government to stop SF getting in. If SF were not polling so well Leo would happily go into opposition. You go into Government to lead and make important decisions not to stop the opposition getting into power.
Do you think we should keep taking them in regardless of room or conditions?
Ah, I get it now, you want to send the Ukrainians to Rwanda.
What do you envisage? The creation of a single-party state? That they will never be in government again?
Complete rubbish. You go into government, you make decisions, you pass laws, changing the country in the way you want. That is what winners do. Losers sit on the opposition benches whinging and moaning about the other side.
Now most parties have their share of winning and of losing and FF, FG, Labour and the Greens have done both. Others are serial losers. If you win, you leave a legacy, even defunct parties like the PDs have more of a legacy that those who are in perennial opposition.
This here is the kind of Fox news sensationalism you often complain about. People critical of the set up and provision for refugees does not equal some people "prefer to watch the Ukrainian people die on TV".
A complete abuse of the Ukrainians by you. Shameful B.
10 or so posts above it.
I'm absolutely not aware of anyone who would like or enjoy Ukrainians dieing on TV, what a truely disgusting comment.
People would rather Refugees would be located to countries if necessary, we're appropriate services and accommodation are available, not to be encouraged to traipse across an entire continent with the promise of unlimited Supports and accommodation, to end up in Tents or airport terminal buildings. They'd also like to see equality and one tier support system and at the very least controls and verifications taking place instead of this Bonkers out of control chaos, they may also like their government to consider them, even briefly.
Other governments have copped on, no fear of ours doing so it would seem. I'm only surprised it's taken this long for this appalling situation to be exposed for what it is, unsustainable Virtue Signalling.
What absolute nonsense and you don't even believe that yourself.
The Govt have fucked up and this is all you can come up with
Any thing to back up this statement?
Seemingly some people would prefer to watch the Ukraine people die on TV than have them come to live in Ireland for hopefully a short period till they return home
Donohoe was saying before Christmas that he worked well with Michael McGrath. He's a potential replacement for Martin though O'Callaghan might also be in the running if it was certain that he'd hold his seat. A kind of dual regime change might work temporarily but it the way that those FFers are lining up against Martin suggests deeper problems within FF. It would not be unthinkable to see the FF cabinet members vote for the FG nominee while some FFers vote in favour of their own political careers. If FG starts to fall to around 15% in the polls by early October then FF will start acting like political sharks.
Regards...jmcc
FF will want/need to distance themselves from FG, so a new leader and a pretence of being different would be in order before the next GE. We might see the coalition fall after Varadker takes his go. I can see FF looking for an out anyway.
So now another €2.8 billion with some contribution from construction industry to repair apartments with defective materials, Mother of God were is all this money coming from, surely the magic money tree must be bare by now 🤔
Another levy on the way 😡
Do you think they could change either leader and keep the coalition alive? I think they could change Leo to say Paschal and keep trucking along but I am not sure if a new FF leader would commit (especially when he/she would not be Taoiseach).
Roderic certainly taking the majority of flack for this debacle, Darragh O Brien in hiding, its shocking
FF is at 20% in the IT poll while FG is down to 18%. :) Martin's personal rating is down 11.

By the comments from that FF meeting, I think that they want to FFrag him as he has become too close to FG.
It seems to be what the majority of the public are saying, but feck them. What do they know.
Tbf if we are leaving them in the 4077th (M*A*S*H), style we should maybe think about it. Maybe a 'more than welcome, but bring a sleeping bag and crash on the floor' would give them a heads up.
It currently looks like Ireland had a natural disaster and FEMA gave us a dig out.
Varadkar, who was promoted by FG media handlers as a some kind of FG "presidential" leader (should we mention his claim to have made phone calls to help out Trump with planning permission issues?), has turned out to be less impressive than you hoped? Lost 12 seats in the GE. Lost another seat in DBS, effectively FG heartland territory. Now those terrible SFers are leading in the polls when only two years ago FG was polling at 37% and FG is on 18%. He was all set for FG to go into opposition. Of course, that would have made him a loser to you, wouldn't it?
They usually roll out the Minister for Children when the FFG bluffers are too afraid to face the music.
Do you think there should be a cap given our housing disaster? Yes or No?
Roderic now also blaming the UK asylum policy even though the UN have said there's absolutely no evidence of this.
I'm just trying to wrap my head around what's it's going to be like in October 😳
Roderic o Gorman, struggling on the new at one
It's really like watching a slow car crash
That remains to be seen.
Odds are that Leo, Michael and Eamonn are on course to decimate their parties by going into government. Which makes it a 'loss'.
