Sounds like a "Leave Britney Alone!" speech. :) Political leaders of major parties have always been the focus of such comments. in the recent Irish Times poll, Varadkar's approval rating fell 12% and Martin's also fell. MLMcD's approval rating rose.

What SF supporters are you referring to precisely. Have you missed the fact sentiment against FFFG is not infact just these SF supporters you refer too (those terrible polls)
Perhaps your also forgetting its Leo, MM and apparently ER that are in charge so naturally they'll be the focus of everyone's attention and I might add from within their own ranks also.
I'm fascinated at the peculiar belief, to oppose FFG particularly you must be a SF supporter, I'm certainly not and never was, I've even been accused of being Paul Murphy in cognito on this thread.
The personal animosity between Leo and SF is actually of their own making, both as bad and petulant as each other, MM belatedly got in on the act and the reality of it all, is that it's just deflection tactics by both sides. The opposition have every right to question Government policy and all they and we get is petulance and tiresome deflection tactics from FFG which has been and continues to fail, its embarrassing at this stage when infact they don't even need SF to expose their ineptitude, they do it all on their own and with no shame.
I'm personally disgusted by Leo and MM, Im actually embarrassed fo ER, appalled by various government ministers, but does that mean, I or others are SF supporters, absolutely not, no matter how some might desperately try to suggest it.
I wonβt vote FF FG or greens - FF are a spent force and FG are just spin with no substance. Not sure where we are but at the minute it looks like off the cliff.
Not certain ones certainly. π
Polls don't matter I hear.
I also love how desparate they are to spin the result of the MOC.
Taking what happens normally in the DΓ‘il, (TDs leaving after a vote) and spinning it as 'running away'. The level of desparation that reveals is clear.
Varadkar wasn't even there for the government motion at the start and just arrived in when it suited him. Which is of course entirely normal.
In the abscence of any data, to guage the validity of this hypothesis.
If only there was a way to do that, like a poll or something.
π
I would say the opposite, they spent two years firing everything they could at the government, all building up towards the last week, the big motion ended in a significant victory for the government
This is the weakest they have been since the election, no matter how many ways their supporters try to twist it
The fact the person who called it ran out of the Dail confirms what an embarrassing result it was for The opposition, the amount of videos doing the circuit now of government TD laughing at the opposition, the recent one I seen was about The opposition seeing what was going on in Westminister βwhere they get expenses but wonβt take their seatsβ (not exactly word for word)
They didnβt like that π€£π€£
It seems the 'winning' of elections was abolished by the power swap when SF finished with more of the vote than FF anf FG in 2020.
Not at a lot of people know that! π
SF may be getting "closer" to winning a majority, but they are also absolutely nowhere close to it overall.
Parties winning viable majorities are more likely under First Past The Post voting systems than PR systems. That's why DeValera wanted to change to a FPTP voting system but it was rejected. On the current polling, SF is getting closer to winning a majority though these %s will change in the few weeks before a GE. An FF/FG merger might also have a similar outcome in that it would create a more modern Left/Right axis in Irish politics.
I think you forget opinions and observations are actually permitted in any discussion, of course disagreement an entitlement too. It would of course be nice to see , countering an opinion or observation but that rarely happens on this thread, instead some pick on an opinion and obsessionally latch onto it , seeking answers, explanations and yet won't offer a counter argument. It's a trick/ Game that is utterly tiresome and of course done in an effort to deflect.
I won't link numerous reports on the situation I've referred to as you won't probably read them.
It's another very embarrassing morning for this Government, Main Headline in most newspapers, indeed intriguing New poll in the IT, worth a read if you've time.
Some Government ministers may have to re think holiday plans, they thought they could head off on 2 months vacation with not a care in the world, it's a real shame π

LOl before I hit the hey. So everything will now be dropped all the Ukraine deflection that FFFG have been put in will be directed at this. Popcorn time will check this later.
Christ. Here he is.
Hahaha, Vetted for the tender I wager. All checks done properly. Will Lessons be learnt.

I read the link. Who announced it.
this is what I posted
and this is how you responded?
π€¦ββοΈ
It's in Plain English.
You thought something was hilarious.
I then stated it was hilarious a minister announcing grants that does not deal with housing. You know what we keep being told. I stated this as it was the department. And mused about the minister not being in control of that department. So it's good news who is taking credit the Minister or the Gov.. Or the Department. It's hard to keep up.
Simple really. π€
I linked to the grants in case anyone was interested but no idea what it has to do with the ramblings in those posts !!!
If it's forgotten someone linked to a great good news story in relation to grants. Well I cannot help. π
I think you are trying to make a point but I have no idea what it isβ¦.
The ghost of Pat Carey?
Look at this doozy, all the oppositions fault too, no doubt
Odd response of deflection to linking the housing department making grants. Is it the Brits fault too for housing. π€
Get it together, its the opposition on DCC 6 year ago runs housing in Ireland :)
I see they slipped in another senior judge without competition.
The responsibilities are kind of ironic.
president of the Law Reform Commission
Once again where did he promote the Rwanda policy? Your reposted tweets showed the exact opposite and appears you agree with his comment that you disagree with the policy.
If you have a link to MM promoting the Rwanda policy please post it.
Not playing the Amnesia game. Sorry. I'm not the one that linked from Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage. News at 11 minister is also not responsible for the department.
What are you talking about?
Not playing silly games, take a peak at the reactions on that dastardly Twitter, but riddle me this, if you've being paying attention as to what's being going on,
Do you seriously believe a new Asylum policy in the UK , barely a few weeks old and has yet to successfully send a single asylum seeker to Rwanda is the cause of the chaos in Ireland, seriously π³
Let me help you, one month ago 600 refugees /Asylum seekers (NOT UKRAINIAN) " Invited" by the previous government under an agreement pre pandemic but delayed Arrived in Ireland, it would seem current government FORGOT, resulting in most of them ending up sleeping on the floor of a Dublin Hotel ballroom.
Unfortunately a riot broke out, presumably because of the appalling conditions. These were swiftly moved to hotels in Westmeath, Longford and elsewhere. I reiterate, Invited to IRELAND and nothing to do with the Ukrainian refugee crisis but making it worse.
The actual designated venue, under contract with almost 800 rooms was full, (City West) more and more Ukrainians arrived, actually ended up sleeping in old terminal building at Dublin Airport. The reactions were swift and brutal. Then this morning news breaks about tents being constructed at the now full city west and indeed a Tent city in meath.
The head of the Irish Government, next morning, scrambling for excuses decides to partially blame a New UK Asylum policy and the reaction even more brutal, we're a laughing stock.
There's absolutely no other way to look at what happened today, it was disgraceful, Lies and deeply troubling no matter what a person's political leaning is.
Utterly disgraceful and shameful. MM in one breath says the UK policy shocking and then feeds the Conservatives who love it by blaming it on the absolute mess here, they'd loved it.
Now, off to bed, good night
