Government minister Josepha Madigan listed among the objectors to this development. But its only the opposition that hold up new developments....
Sorry but you are talking out of your arse. You are lying and everyone can see that. Nothing is 100% obvious as you claim.
have you contacted your local opposition TD yet?
I am struggling to see why you got so upset a few posts ago about the plight of these poor people and now are more interested in back and forward discussion.
So which is it? do you actual care about these people? or you more interest in a game of political point scoring?
Google 'blocking houses FACTCHECK' the journal.ie did an extensive check across the country and found the claim 'misleading'.
BA knows this but shoots the messenger every time without providing anything but soundbites from FG FF as proof.
Devil is always in the detail but Local gov or something.
How is that only being 'noticed' now? He knows well, as they all do what has been going on and obviously now are finding it hard to ignore, similar everything else with them. Ignore it until it becomes a crisis and then pretend they want to do something about it. Bunch of asshats.
Someone provide the information. Seems councillors blocking is incorrect. So would be no reason to contact them.
Probably an attempt to get out in front of a story that is about to break.
The journal article questioned the number of houses, not that the opposition are blocking.
In this situation the poster is clearly distressed about these poor people so it is valid for them to contact the opposition to ask why they are blocking.
They also claimed "Ireland is full" so any houses would help. Do you not agree?
It could also be a chance to change and control the narrative.
Why are you misrepresenting the question asked and the answers to same on the other thread?
The question was do you want a general election now... Yet you have somehow arrived that the conclusion that people don't want a general election until the end of the government's term.
I voted no for a general election now. I wasn't asked if I want to see the government last it's term. Please don't misrepresent how I and possibly others voted in the poll.
The answer given is to the question that was asked. Nothing more and nothing less.
Sorry you are incorrect. Plenty of information available, even Francie has confirmed in regards to the journal
You would have to have a word to the NIMBYS same ones that want to invite everyone. Imagine putting 16 story apartment blocks in Dundrum. FG supporters seemed to have blocked that. And green.
The reasons why are also in that fact check and they range from cronyism to just bad planning (building on a flood plain in one instance).
A housing crisis is not a charter to revive the Galway Tent or creating future problems.
Aye I remember some woman on the TV during the flooding Turns out her house got turned down 3 times then built somehow. then complained it's flooded.
The Journal didn't find the claim untrue, Francie. It may have been misleading in that the full number of houses weren't objected to, but the vast majority was correct.
Again I refer you to Francie and the journal article. As I suggested you should contact your local opposition TD.
So you agree that the journal article confirmed the opposition are blocking housing?
I don't have one there Gov TD's
Their power to override sensible planning and do crony deals and throw housing up anywhere they like has been eroded by activism and an alert political class.
The likes of Hughie 'loads of sterling and I'll smooth the planning process for you' McElvaney and the others can't operate with impunity anymore. They don't like it.
Incorrect. You will find every area in Ireland will be covered by a local TD, even if not voted into the Dail,
What area you in and I can point you in the right direction?
Is this 'whats a vulture fund' all over again? I don't know where you get the energy B. If an event that comes up. Accept it. You won't explain why the RIC/Tan commemoration haunts you so. As you say, I'll leave you there.
Irresponsible housing and crony developments are being blocked as they should be.
Again, can you please explain why you are so obsessed with the RIC event?
Starting to remind me of the time you didn't understand what LPT was. That was hilarious.
It lives in your head horse. I've no doubt it will come up again.
I am quite sure you are mixing me up with someone else but you never let the facts get in the way of a hollow win.
Meh, it's getting a bit old now, Francie. Well done on the many years of service, but time for a new approach.
I don't see the point. Take the link to Dundrum. Seems objections were by the locals 16 story apartments. Wager most of what objected to is large scale unsuitability of location. Due diligence and alike. I'm sure the people of Dundrum were delighted their local council signed off on that huge development.
just googled Daft and looked at street view of Dundrum not hugely au fait with the area. Seems the rate for a house in the area they wanted to build is over half a mill. Imagine the slump in price.
Thanks for backing up my claims about BA. As you rightly pointed out I said an election now and I never mentioned 2025.
So you can't tell us why you are so obsessed with the RIC event?
@jmcc maybe you could shed some light on the obsession with an event which was proposed by the previous government?
Sorry to harp on about it but this is going on for months now so I think everyone on the thread is entitled to an explanation to what is the obsession?
I answered your question.
Why are you obsessed with houses that were blocked for valid reasons by the previous opposition?
I didn't think you would see the point.
It's simple. You posted about people potentially been homeless with some faux outraged comment, yet you support a party who are currently doing everything they can to make as many people homeless as possible.
If you can't see the obvious issue then sorry I cannot help.
If you have any concern for these people then contact your local TD and ask why the party, even after the government pleaded with them to come together in a crisis, why they are blocking houses and putting these people homeless.
But it's just a political football isn't it?
Dundrum isn't in Cork by the way, thats the link you posted. Did you even read the article?
