Starting this thread as an opposite to the Tesco Bargains [Groceries] thread, on Bargain Alerts, to share any notable increases in prices with other shoppers.

(This can also include where an item is significantly decreased in weight or volume, yet the price remains the same or higher!)

So, share what you've noticed!

I'll start with Tesco Deli Style Crumbed Ham which increased in price from €2.29 last week to €3.30 this week. A total increase of €1.01 or 44%

Iceberg lettuce mentioned earlier in the thread, still priced lower for the bigger packet vs the smaller one but up 6c to 95c now with the shelf edge declaring a price match with Aldi. Good to know they have our backs there.

The club card prices are annoying to the point now I feel like I need to double check everything for fear I get screwed on something. On that they regularly have Corsodyl toothpaste on offer, regular price is 5.50 now €4 with the card. I'd normally get 2 or 3 when they are reduced but I discovered dealz has it €4 all the time and it's in a bigger 100ml tube.

They’re about half that in Dunnes or were lately. Super valu is easily the most expensive supermarket and in my opinion not worth the extra

One thing is for sure- these mega corporations are not going to lose a cent throughout this crisis- I’ve no doubt senior strategists see it as a nice soft opportunity to add a little more fat for themselves along the way. It’s the primary producers I feel sorry for.

9.75 is madness for a cooked chicken, was it at least advertised as free range?

Dunnes are still 4.99 for a 1.4kg rotisserie chicken from the hot counter which is looking like a bit of a bargain the way food prices have been rising lately. Im guessing a 1.4kg chicken uncooked is around 4 euro so avoiding the hassle of cooking it is well worth the extra euro. Most home ovens are around about 2,000 watts so an hour of cooking a chicken would cost not far off a euro anyway

Tesco own brand butter is gone to €3.39 a block now. Aldi are still at €2.99 but I’m sure they will follow suit and increase their price!

Its actually cheaper per sachet to buy the 12 packs now as opposed to 40 pack, thats how bad it has gone.

Picked up a 2 pack of pre-packed soft bread rolls. Always €1 and still advertised as such on display. Get to the checkout and charged €1.10!

Didn't have the heart to complain. Almost like it's expected now at this stage.
