Any of these changes in budget take month to bring about, it’s not like some parties who scribble some numbers down on a piece of paper and when asked they haven’t a clue. These are actual budgets with real numbers.

I don’t think you understand the meaning of the word kite flying based on how you are using it.
Its not unusual for independents to be focused on single issues. I think there'll still be a seat for him next general election on the issue of the defence forces. I know what he said earlier in the week but he was aware that the Commission for Defence Forces review was up for cabinet discussion. It wasn't just put there because of how he might vote on a motion the government were never going to lose.
A general election right now doesn't deliver on his single issue so despite what he said I doubt he was ever voting against the government.
If confused you should search “bot” and pick a name of an opposition party. I will let you decide which one, it will all become crystal clear very quickly
