Thanks 👍
Sorry long day 😂
Unique Selling Point, ah sorry too late 🤔
I would like to see more about what they plan to change
Seemingly property tax, so giving a tax break to all the rich in Ireland. LPT meant if you owned a house in Ireland you paid tax on it, no matter how much you moved offshore etc. Now SF want to get rid of it?
LPT is one of the taxes which has actually hugely benefitted everyone in Ireland.
Apart from that a lot of noise with no real details. If you are currently working and working hard expect to be the person to get hit the hardest, that seems to be the underlying plan.
Even from a tax point of view it was 140k before additional tax, then 100k, that’s a 28% swing. Huge difference yet SF expect nobody to call them out on it and their supporter think that’s not a huge warning sign
Could you translate that bit for me
Funny
If you are currently working and working hard expect to be the person to get hit the hardest, that seems to be the underlying plan.
I could ask you to elaborate on that but it would probably be pointless
Could you explain how this won't be the case?
Are tax increases not going to be necessary? If not great, ill take 66 percent promised reduction in childcare for free.
Must say in shocked its only 400m spent on childcare in the state, seems a no brainer to subsidise. Working people having kids is an investment
Would seem I touched a nerve.
Not sure what you needs translated on the additional tax for people earning 100k or was it 140k and tomorrow? Well you might as well guess
As I said to other poster the best place to find the current variant of the SF proposal is on the website, the old version will be deleted from the website to try cover up for all th changes
It was interesting to see FF call them out this week in regards to childcare and return to school etc. as part of budget extensive plan by government to help parents with return to school, SF alternative budget never mention any of this?
Total incompetent? Yes
Will it be in next version? Of course
How will SF pay for it? Ahh **** who cares because they haven’t a clue and don’t have to ever implement any of these alternative budget and thank god because they are jibber jabber
Three they have proposed in the last few weeks according to FF, why 3???? One can only guess they are struggling again with the calculator
To be fair SF have mentioned childcare for a long time now https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.irishmirror.ie/news/irish-news/sinn-fein-promise-ease-childcare-21372649.amp
Others have been in government but done very little. They have talked about it but done little. Communication to creches was appalling during lockdowns
Childcare is prior to school, different topic altogether
Not return to school, children in school SF have mentioned nothing and that’s what FF pulled them up on
In sure they will come out with some BS now to better what the government offered but of course with no info on how to pay for it
The video is on FF Facebook if you want to watch and disagree with what they say
Don’t you mean ‘Mount street cliches’?
Yea, apologies, forgot the 'Mount Street'
Thanks would assume non tangibles would include IP?
All of this of course has since been thrown in the bin and we have had multiple “alternative budgets”
All of which get more outlandish and unrealistic. But a certain few lap it up so it I’ll continue
I'm assuming you wouldn't be able to think of any good reason why SF might have had multiple “alternative budgets”, think about it.
all party's have mutliple drafts of there budget and plans before they get into office the main diffrence between Sinn Fein and the other party's is they want to help the avrage person and not the bankers and companies like FF & FG jobshare goverment
Isn't it wonderful how many parties claim they want to help the average working person.....and how few actually do anything to help the average working person.
I suspect the SF claims to help the average person is about as likely to come to fruition Leo's promise to those of us who get up early in the morning.
Only one way to find out Fionn
Lol I think you are in for a big disappointment if/when your buddies in SF get into power.
Even more liberal immigration and a bigger welfare spend is what we will get, and guess who will be footing the bill for it all.
Oh and all these houses they are going build as well even though there isn't enough skilled workers to build them.
I don't need to stick my hand in the fire to know it'll burn me!
I also spent most of my life living in NI, so I already have practical experience with a SF government (albeit with the caveats of mandatory coalition).
yeah lets blame immigrants for everything typical
Good comment.
If anyone wants to see what SF are like in government, look at their performance in the North, look at their performance on Local Authorities in the South.
SF are very good at making people angry, shouting and roaring populist nonsense. But when it comes to governing, they have been a failure everywhere they have had a go.
factually incorrect.
sf in local authorities in the south have been a success, as local authorities go, and that is from someone who would like local authorities to be abolished but that's a separate discussion.
sf have been stifled from governing in the north because the DUP keep fillibustering, they would be able to govern if they were by themselves or were in government with a grown up party.
What have Sinn Fein done/not done in the North and in Local Authorities in the South that would have you worried. Specific examples, not bluster, please.
That's fair enough Fionn, you'll just have to stick with the soldiers/shirts then, which is also fair enough but you'll obviously have to forget about any of the following.
Anything forward thinking; infrastructure, modernisation, investment in trying to avoid future exacerbation of the housing crisis by encouraging and subsidising training for the trades or inward attraction of these skillsets....big and difficult decisions that will actually provide longterm benefit to our society as a whole rather than short-termist, 'stick a few quid in that cohort's pocket for now to buy their vote' would have me celebrating
I won't be getting any of the above voting SF, so why would I vote for them?
I'll continue voting for none of the three myself. While I'm certainly not satisfied with FG or FF, replacing them with another sh*tshow leaves me no better off.
That is too long a list. It would be more useful to look at the list of things that Sinn Fein have done either in the North or in councils that have improved the life of ordinary people. Here it is:
(1) Eh
(2) Now, let me think,
(3) Whatabout FF/FG
(4) ?
That's about it, don't think there is anything else for the list of SF achievements.
Explain to me how precisely Sinn Fein intend to do this?
Sinn Fein have cleverly hidden their plan to apply a 3% net pay cut to every public servant in the country. Currently, all public servants get tax relief on their pension contributions, but Sinn Fein are pledging to abolish this, so the end result that an ordinary nurse or an ordinary teacher will see a 3% cut or thereabouts as a result.
