Anyone able help me learn how to sell covered calls on DeGiro?
I have 100 shares of a stock and would like to earn a bit. Is that counted as income or capital gains?
And any simulators so I can see what kind of returns I could make?
Hi all,
Just wondering if we can buy the S&P500 index fund here yet? I remember we were blocked some time ago and just wondering if the problem has been resolved yet.
What one do you guys use?
You can't buy the US based ETFs like VOO but there are plenty of EU based ones that you can buy that are more or less the same. This has been the case since the regulations came in preventing us from buying VOO.
Anyone have an easy way of tracking portfolio performance? I don't want to have to use another website to track buying and selling prices.
Shame DeGiro doesn't have a portfolio chart displaying performance.
And does anyone know how to sell calls on DeGiro? And would it even be worthwhile selling for 10-20% above stock price?
Used to sell covered calls eg. Nokia. Not worth it imo
How much would you be talking? A few euro with a strike price 10% above current price?
Can't remember as it was so long ago, something in the region of 6 to 8 euro monthly per 100 shares
I cannot buy Nvidia on degiro. It won't allow me?
Does it say why?
Thanks a million , what one do you guys use and any drawbacks associated?
Gents is it still the case that you can only invest in GBP ?
Not on degiro.ie
Shedite, here is message re buying Nvidia. I have since had a reply from them that I cannot buy, no reason given, but that I could buy them via three other markets
Just placed an order to check on my Degiro and it worked fine. You're buying on Frankfurt exchange there, have you bought on that exchange before? Might work on Nasdaq?
An odd situation, I have a small holding in Hibernia REIT. The dividend last month has been reversed in my account, due to degiro not receiving it from the custodian, highly odd. Anyone else in the same situation or similar?
Just opened a new account and am looking to buy some UK investments trusts and possibly US Berkshire Hathaway shares, would be holding long term 10+ years, do you need to convert euros into sterling and dollars first or will Degiro do the conversion at the same time as the trade.
Thanks for any advice
DeGiro does that for you.
Thanks for that
Anyone else receive an email from degiro today which was an error?
It referred to me as a corporate client, and referenced a supposed previous email about my account termination.
Rang degiro and said my account was fine, strange
Yeah got that too, something about me having to close positions. Thankfully got the clarification mail an hour later that it was a mistake.
Yeah got the apology email as well. Bad form in fairness
Anyone else unable to log into Degiro at the moment?
I have 2 factor authentication enabled. But its not accepting the token for some reason.
It's working for me.
Anyone know how legitimate it is that degiro do not accept Revolut as a bank account?
What do you mean by "legitimate"?
As in, is their refusal to accept deposits from Revolut legal, now that it has a banking licence
It has nothing to do with legality, nor banking license. It has to do with how Revolut transfers money. The money must come directly from your account. that is how DeGiro knows to deposit the funds in your Degiro Account. With Revolut transfers, they all come from the same Revolut source and don't seem to identify the customer, so Degiro has no idea what customer sent the money, so they have no idea what DeGiro account to deposit it into.
It's not Revolut specific, DeGiro won't work with any third-part or payment tools etc for that very reason.
From DeGiro:
DEGIRO only accepts direct bank to bank transfers. All transfers should be made directly from your registered bank account. We do not accept transfers sent via a third party such as PayPal or Wise.
I would like to think Revolut is changing (or will change) this, as it is not just DeGiro that will have a problem with it.
Can you have two current accounts registered with degiro? (in middle of move due to UB closing)
You can add in additional accounts and change your deposit / withdraw to one of the additional accounts, but you are limited to three changes per year.
