If the Gov has lost the majority should it not Trigger an election ? I mean everything can get voted down now. Effectively a Government that can't govern the country.
Think that there is another poll due on Sunday. RedC and Ireland Thinks have always been harder on FF but B&A favours it. It was really funny to read about how the brains trust in FF thought that RedC had been infiltrated by SF.
Regards...jmcc
No idea what you are talking about but if true I am sure you are concerned about these men and have offered to house some of them immediately?
There's clearly something going on, John Lahart FF poorly trying to explain what happened, quite embarrassing, claiming it WAS partly to meet new colleagues they hadn't met because of Covid, Seriously 🙄Journalist sitting beside him could name all those in attendance and when asked on morning Ireland a FF minister said the meeting shouldn't have happened. FF seemed to be learning quite a bit from FG 😏
No. It would have to be defeated on a major vote. There are some Independents, such as Lowry, who may vote with the government on some issues. There might be some Labourites lining up for ministerial salaries and pension if FFG really need lobby fodder to stay in power.
You get told about whats happening in Kinnegad in the hotel to black refugees (it was discussed on late debate) and your response is asking has a poster offered any of them a room if hes so worried.
Absolutely disgusting thats your first thought when you hear the problems black refugees are having
The knives are coming out of the scabbards.
The issues are only important if they can make the Gov look Good. There's a problem. That makes Gov look Bad. Deflection have you taken any in. How much is this going to cost us. Gov looks Bad pull out the R card. Then Deflection We donate to other Countries. No actual dealing with the Issue being discussed.
Things don't seem to be going well for FF. FG is basically treating them as if they were still part of that Martin's disastrous Confidence and Supply agreement. He'll be lucky to make December at this rate and it would be fittingly ironic if he was removed as FF leader just as he removed Brian Cowen.
You see I would just call them Syrian refugees.
As I posted I have no idea what you are talking about.
Disgusting to ask if you are going to help these people?
It’s disgusting to use these poor people as the latest points scoring exercise on a forum with no concern about them at all.
Would this be the same point scoring that when asked were all this money is going to come from suggestions of the "R" word. It's hard to keep up. I will reiterate we have no idea what money we have spent already on the Ukrainian situation blank check from the start. Then 3bn from this budget already gone before the budget was done.
I would welcome any input on stopping all Foreign aid and diversion to Ukraine for the foreseeable can we agree on that. Not some kind of magic money tree.
Nice to see the locals in Kinnegad rallying together on this. Quick read over the Facebook page “What’s happening in Kinnegad” is shedding some light on this news story.
Even a draft letter written up for everyone to send to TDs, I’m sure I seen someone post here they are contacting TDs
Interesting reading the letter and the website. I will say no more
9:29 never heard of it. Td's involved and magically 😂 Facebook and alike those platforms for cranks IIRC.
Can this government do anything right?
They now have refugees complaining about other refugees being given preferential treatment. Some even begging to be treated like human beings. I posted a video yesterday of a refugee complaining about the same thing, and posters here accused her of being racist - as if she has no right to complain after waiting 12 years to be skipped. They dismissed her as though she was just a nuisance to them. That she was besmirching the governments name was more important to those posters. They should be ashamed of themselves. Then they also started to prioritise the other refugees over her, trying to make it look like they have some sort of compassion.
The acts and behaviour of the government trickling down to the plebs that defend them here. Leading by example.
Wasn't it a FF'er brought a sword to the Dail when there was talk of ousting Charlie?
So rather than addressing the situation you are looking for groups to attack to deflect from it? Thats using the immigrants.
Back to the FFGG Government..
This Troublesome FF parliamentary Party meeting , Held in MM absence, starting to get more media (Verified) scrutiny.
Timing is rather curious, Perhaps these back benchers see the writing on the wall , don't particularly like the idea of plans in December , I presume most have been hearing Troublesome stories from their constituents.
A decision by "the other party " due this morning re "wasting Governments time" , this may turn out to more than a "wasting of time" exercise they proceed.
Honestly given how Bad thing are and everyone affected by the incompetence a change is needed but I'd not like to see these chancers get off so lightly but would be quite happy if their extended vacations were disrupted.
And further great Headline if your in FFG 🙄
It gets worse if you can believe it
MLM Just confirming VONC next week on Morning Ukraine (Sorry Ireland) 😏
A chara, not sure who you are calling “plebs”?
If you can please point to the posters you are making this accusation against?
Thank you
What exactly does this have to do with a meeting of FF backbenchers?
That's a council issue, DCC in this case here, and it's a problem all over the city/country. They are responsible for dealing with derelict and vacant sites and yes they should be taxing them or using a CPO to acquire them. Here's a link to the DCC current register.

FF will feel they are back in Confidence and Supply when Leo takes the helm in December. They will get 'Fine Gaeled' in the eyes of the electorate. I really hope they don't pull the plug in 2023 but they will find it difficult.
You can always tell when you've gotten under the skin of the anti-SF/pro-Govt cohort when they resort to the "A chara" salutation.
Gas.
You can confirm this story?
were you in Kinnegad to see for yourself?
They need the housing situation to look better before they do go to the country and an easing of the current economic pressures would be preferable. They also understand how being in power is far more useful plus there is a deal in place. Grumpy backbenchers will ever be thus but there's usually more hot air than anything with them. They just need a bit of attention every so often.
Indeed I was, pass through it daily, actually have some insight into the hotels troubled history, happy to share via PM
But back to FFGG topic, pretty grim news coverage across numerous Verified News outlets, Leo must be distraught at what's going on over at his favourite social media outlet, I feel for him 😏
It's July, the war has completely slowed down, COVID is done, so there's a lot of manufactured media magnification of a mini political squabble. There are usually no summer political stories. That could just as easily be a report on a punch-up at a village fete between 90 year olds.
I'm particularly fond of the " Get up the Yard" sign off 😏
Get up the yard
"Telling someone to 'get up the yard' or, directly translated, 'walk away up the garden or yard' simply means in Dublin Irish slang to go away. It can be used in a jovial way or a more threatening manner, depending on the mood of the person"
Yes, to some onlookers, it seems that the local community were happy to fill the hotel with their fruit-picking and meat factory slaves, but don't like Syrian refugees?
Pretty much nail hitting head. Any election in the next 12 months will be the equivalent of a mid-term election and see the current government hammered. That is why so many people get excited about the tiniest squabble hoping their dreams of a SF single party government will come true (unfortunately some don't understand the difference between majority and largest party). The best approach for this government is to stick it out until 2025. Their hope will be that DART West, Metrolink, strategic housing, student accommodation, mica redress etc. will be on their way to being delivered, and that the Ukraine War and inflation will have been left behind.
Yes Brucie, and they also brought guns into the Dáil in their history.
