This is wrecking my head. Tried a different card, same result.
Suggest reaching out to the lads on twitter, they're pretty good at picking up messages of these nature...
Are mcconville and flynn due on today's podcast? Looking forward to some analysis of the football semi finals
Yes.
Yeah it’s not great. Best pundit is probably Gerry Thornley though I find his incessant moaning about refs whenever an Irish side loses tedious. Overall the best contributor is Simon Hick, I think they could use him more. No more Shane Horgan please
Listening to it now, McConville sounds like he’s trapped down a well
Best pundit? You mean best cheerleader? He also rarely comes on if Ireland are losing.
I agree he’s a cheerleader, what I meant was most interesting / least boring. But yeah, he’s hardly objective
Shocking quality. Sounded like he was in a conference room speaking into his laptop from a distance.
McConville must be staying in Miguel Delaney's gaff.
Emailed them.
Came back to me in a couple of hours, solved now.
Just catching up with some podcasts and that 'Branno' statement/retort to the stupid jersey argument was one of the cringiest things I have ever heard. The 'Sneyd and Branno' shows really irritate me, would love some more variety for LOI chats
I'm not a big rugby fan but used to occasionally listen to the SC rugby stuff after big Ireland/Leinster matches and it never grabbed my attention. That said, although I can enjoy a rugby match I've rarely found much of the analysis that interesting, perhaps it's too technical for me?
Who would provide good rugby analysis?
I actually like David Sneyd, but I find "Branno" to be very try hard. He comes across as the stereotypical "If you don't like LOI you're a ****" supporter that people who actually don't like LOI use as a reason not to support it.
I would much rather Richie and David Sneyd to cover LOI, of the regular contributors they have.
That’s just the nature of rugby- not much you can do to spice up corporate twaddle laced banter from the absolute dullards that rugby players tend to be
It's covered differently though. The coverage of other sports isn't just technical tactical stuff, which is dull for more sports. But rugby chat in particular doesn't seem to go beyond the tactics.
Which is exactly the point Shank is making.
yeah 'try hard' is the nail on the head
Keith Wood used to be good on OTB, I don’t know if they still get him on
Women's football today. After hurling and gaelic there hasn't been much for me this week on the pod unfortunately. Hopefully next week it will pick up.
I find the wall to wall Premier League coverage can be a bit boring and repetitive, I always like these few weeks of the year it barely gets mentioned, wish they'd do more obscure and niche stuff like they did on OTB.
A politics pod on the current farce with the conservatives would be interesting.
Unfortunate time for Ken to be on his holidays with all that stuff going on alright - no matter when he picks, he always misses something major one way or another!
Andy Dunne, Matt Williams (without the Frano, Drico, Gordo crap) and Simon are the only three I like listening to about rugby.
The rest I can take or leave.
Murray Kinsella's bedroom analysis kills me
Women's team sports = meh
Was absolutely gutted to download the Monday episode looking forward to Ken on the whole Ronaldo situation, absolutely gutted. Looks like it might be rumbling on for a while yet so just more content for Ken to work with!
I think Wilson embarrassed himself talking about Ronaldo on Monday. Blaming Ronaldo for Maguire's form is desperate stuff.
Simon is great as he makes rugby analysis "normal" in the sense that other sports analysis is normal.
I like Matt as he doesn't toe the "Aren't Ireland super duper" line.
Enlightened opinion #BringBackRollEyesEmoji
I like that you said "toe the line" not tow 😁
