Francie has never wavered on his view that the government should pay for the incompetence of it’s regulatory systems.
That costs the taxpayer and we can show what we think at the next election.
Spouting some nonsense about ‘lessons learnt’ will not cut it here. They fucked over many lives, and that is going to cost us all.
You can tell by the anger of government fans that they will hate the scrutiny.
Anger? Because I suggested someone will piss all over your popcorn, you think I am angry?
A motion of no-confidence is a complete waste of time as it has no chance of passing.
No, a motion of no confidence will allow a stock take of where we are at. They are not always called to be won. They are tactical.
Hence the palpable anger here. I can feel it.
Did you read the article as if you did you would clearly have seen the meeting was held (without the leader of the party knowing it was happening)
Secret meeting MM didn't know about at the time
Of course they had to tell him after the event as FF TDs couldn't keep their mouths shut n not run to the papers with every single little thing
Some seeing it as a threat to Martin’s leadership according to RTE Drive Time
What's all this Shenanigans going on over at FF, sneaky meetings, Jack "The Boy Wonder" Chambers, pretending to fix TV cables, sent in to Mark cards, very intriguing 🤔🤔🤔
This is the first one since the last election.
As the government is doing SFA about housing, I don't see how its wasting another few days of the governments time in the middle of a housing crisis.
Haven't seen any sign of anger. Bemusement, maybe at why SF are trying this. Mild irritation at the standard playbook actions of gallery playing.
This MNOC does seem to have punctured the bubble of pontification about Varadkar and the DPP deciding not to prosecute him for leaking that document. There's a stink of abject panic on Social Media from FFG supporters and no doubt political pressure will be applied to keep FFG TDs in line. Think that SF has until tomorrow at 11:00 to file the motion. If SF targeted Varadkar instead of the government would that cause a lot more problems in FFG than a simple MNOC against the govenment?
Regards...jmcc
The anger and arrogance I am seeing here and on social media shows this is something they really don’t want.
Scrutiny is not their thing.
Apart from your persistent need to rant on about the DCC REIT you're completely misreading my posts on this. The discussion was about mica candidates in a GE o any election, who I say would have no hope except maybe in Donegal. It's generally accepted it's going to cost a packet but public patience with an ever-expanding scheme should not be taken for granted and €3bn is probably as far as that goes. As for the REIT, well €38m in uncollected rent by DCC suggests we could be getting a very good deal there and the Germans will collect!
Yep. How dare the Irish people demand high standards in public office. At least Boris Johnson managed to get the Tories relected with a majority of 80 seats. Varadkar is a serial loser who lost seats for FG in every election FG contested since he became leader. Even though a MNOC against the government might not pass, the prospect of Vardkar leading FG into the next GE must be worrying some in FG. FF can't afford to lose any more points in the opinion polls and I think that there's one due on Sunday.
Yet I didn't mention DCC. The public have no more monocles left to fall out of their eye in shock at government spending. We are use to massive waste of our money. The public won't begrudge the mica settlement.
There must be about 10 all told back to Enda's time, all pointless and in that legal category of nuisance suits. This one is plain daft in timing and looked like someone realised the significance of the numbers last night and tacked on a dubious reason for chancing their arm, actually a very Boris excuse. They'd really much prefer to hammer the government on housing right up to an election and this thing is just for the crowds and the very angry on social media.
They don’t need to win to be successful.
For a person who claims to be not a FG supporter you seem very concerned about the FG party and what leader they have in place for the next election. If he was such a “loser” wouldn’t it be better for a non FG supporter for him still to be in power?
Have you lived under a rock for the last two years? SF and supporters have spent the entire time going after Leo and by the day it gets more and more embarrassing
Panic is right, but you picked the wrong supporters, I think you will find FG supporters are smugly sitting watching the opposition supporters in melt down for the last 24 hours 🤣
Next time take a little time to read the actual link, the very first tweet pointed out it wasn’t secret 😂😂
You've mentioned the DCC REIT at least a dozen times! I don't disagree on the settlement at all but there is a real limit to that but they won't be voting for mica candidates.
Is there some new definition of success you've come up with? Please share. We've been here too many times before for a SF MoC to be credible. The timing is especially dumb as the Dail closes soon.
I suggest you check into the actions the government have taken on housing. You might not agree with the plan but doing “SFA” is totally incorrect.
At least you are aware the motion is just anther time wasting exercise for an incompetent opposition. What was it they said? “Best opposition ever” 🤦♂️🤦♂️
The link takes me to the newspaper article actually. So Micheal did know the meeting was taking place beforehand and it wasn't a secret behind his back. You would think he would have clarified this today
Yes MM just give a daily brief of every single meeting he or his party members have. 🤦♂️
Leave you to it
I was talking about Mica candidates actually but it also applies to MONC.
A MONC is a chance to review progress and it aint going down well with the faithful. Round 1 goes to the opposition.
They have the words of the song mixed up, gobshites
At this stage it is Fianna Who? Martin has sacrificed the party for his turn as leath-taoiseach. If SF put down a MNOC in Varadkar, it would be fun to see if these FFers would vote for him.
I heard Michael lehane from RTE discussing this mysterious meeting and MM certainly knew as he sent Jack Chambers to seemingly find out what was going on, who was there, Jack even claiming he was checking audio-visual wiring when he walked in on the gathering.
Seems all very mysterious, particularly as MM off virtue signalling in Ukraine which seems to have got very little attention.
Virtue signalling? Jesus wept. The man is over in the country discussing ways we can help them out.
Surely virtue signalling would be talking about it but not, actually, going over.
Once again, the real heroes are the ones offering no solidarity, criticising those that do and also taking “pot shots” at those actively engaging with the Ukrainians.
Nice bit of vice signalling there, bub.
According to Mr Coveney we will adopt a part of Ukraine to Rebuild. Where we getting the cash for that ? We seem pretty flush with cash.

"“Fúck Sinn Féin and fúck Fine Gael” was the rallying call given at the meeting of 29 backbench Fianna Fáil members this week.
In a rip-roaring contribution from Senator Erin McGreehan, the party members - who met while Taoiseach Micheál Martin was out of the country – heard that the party needs to stop looking behind them and around them, and start worrying about themselves.
“Stop looking around us. We are concentrating on our role in government, we are concentrating that Sinn Féin are this and that. Fúck Sinn Féin, fúck Fine Gael, fúck them all. We are Fianna Fáil. We are the largest party in the Seanad, the largest party in the Dáil, the largest in local government,” she said according to sources at the meeting. She said it is time to fight back and said she would be criticising Justice Minister Helen McEntee. We are getting it in the neck from Fine Gael in the Seanad and it is a pain in the arse,” she added."
A real charmer is the fair Erin! Still, it's nice to see one of Meehawl's Seanad nominees reminding us that when it comes to strategic policy formulation, you just can't beat the FF wimmin!
More virtue signaling. They are getting worse than Boris.
