Yep. They still have the mercs in their depot along with the ex London Geminis.
Not sure this is the best thread specifically, but the NTA have applied for planning permission for a temporary depot in Finglas for DB to use while existing depots are electrified.
Finally. There was some discussion on it a few pages back.

One of the new electric single deckers spotted in the wild. Nice to see them going with double doors.
(Not my photo, was posted by Crouch Recovery on Facebook)
That be one of Athlones, I wonder where this was taking and where its heading.
I'd say it would be Athlone's. I wonder what will happen to the Streetlites they have that are only 3 years old.
Cascaded down to other town services run by bus Eireann presumably (potentially the Carlow town service?)
Hard to tell from the photo if the mirrors have been detached for transport or if they actually have the camera version.
Taken in the UK, presumably on its delivery journey
Supposedly will be known as the EA class, with EA1-10 going to Athlone (Bus Eireann) and EA11-45 to Dublin Bus.
Do you also happen to know which sets are going into which garages? I don't think all the "L" routes DB run have a combined PVR of 35, as of now
Odd that BE and DB would both have the same code. Wouldn't be surprised if they went with EAS possibly for BE and EA for DB as BE often have three digit codes.
Wonder what routes DB are gonna put on other than the O. The L54, L58 and L59 might have a case. Possibly the L53 too but I believe that's interworked with the 26. Aren't there shorter wheelbase versions too I wonder will they have dual doors.
The electric single deckers will be going on the O route in Dublin. Phibsboro and Summerhill will be operating it.These 2 garages will be the first to have chargers fitted
Yes, all 35 of DB's allocation are for the O route next year.
Edit: Sorry, 34.
See below.
I seriously doubt that the PVR of the “O” is 35.
It would need 9 for each direction to deliver an 8 minute frequency, assuming a journey time of 64 minutes and allowing layover time at Heuston, so that’s 18 plus maybe two maintenance spares.
I suspect that the rest are earmarked for the N2.
Okay I didn't realise all of them were going on the O route. That'll bring the single deck fleet in Dublin up to 75. I thought I heard something about shorter wheelbase buses or am I imagining it.
There will be some always charging in both garages from what I heard.
Sorry, yeah, the PVR of both O and N2 together is 32.
I'd be interested to see how they work the O when buses have to taken off. I presume it'll be a 24hr route.
When is the O route due to start?
I was trying to work out its route to Mount St on a map earlier, will it use Erne St and Holles St?
I'm not sure to be honest, I just got this from a comment by an admin of one of the spotting groups on Facebook, so the code may not be final. I doubt BE would go for EAS though, as "S" at the end of the fleet code usually means it's a schools bus.
They most probably just went in adding “D”, as they’ve done so for the PAs
D is for double decker so that would make less sense
One of the timelines in the BusConnects forum said it may launch alongside the N2 and F Spine in April 2023, though that is subject to a lot of ambiguity
Here’s the City Centre map btw (shows the entire route of the O): https://busconnects.ie/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/city-centre-area-map.pdf
Perhaps “M” for Minibus would be a better option then?
I think “M” would be for midibus - it ain’t a minibus!
Start dates going forward are probably fluid I would suggest, as they are going to be entirely dependent upon the operators’ ability to hire the requisite number of staff.
Was on a PA for the first time in a while yesterday and was surprised by how many bells weren't working, I must have tried 3 or 4 before I got one to ring. I'd seen it mentioned here and elsewhere but didn't realise how bad it can be.
That happened to me as well last week (on a Donnybrook PA), had to shout down to the driver to get him to stop
N2 will be operated by GAI - confirmed by one of the NTA board meeting minutes - so you can take that out of any Dublin Bus electric PVR calculations.
The talk was that if the N2 went through the Phoenix Park that it too would be operated by some of these electric vehicles. So some may go to GAI.
