I know €65k is cheap for a house, generally speaking, but that house for €40k would still seem on the high end to me... Although it is lovely, it's very remote (or seems to be) and I'm sure I have seen more for less that direction.
On the other hand there is a report on 'Options for the development of new tourism infrastructure and outdoor recreation facilities at Glenfarne Wood, Co. Leitrim.' including, it appears, a greenway, so owning a property in the area might be to some advantage.
Are you referring to the fact that google maps appears to be haunted in the vicinity? 😀

That's what I'm wondering, I was referring to the fact that whoever bought the ex station managed to aquire the land under the road bridge and a few square metres beyond the bridge and incorporate it as part of their garden. And did a nice convert if I do say so. Loyal to the building history while putting their spin on it.
Yeah, I saw it and thought the same (that they did a nice job) after you linked to it, but I think to see it best you may have to go forward or back a but to see what you're looking at. I didn't initially see it until I did that.

I could not figure out what I was supposed to be looking at, but trying to go along that road was crazy with whole thing jumping around and doing weird angles so you could not progress. Other people evidently managed to go along it though so maybe its my copy of google maps that's haunted?

Yes it's very small and needs a lot of work. It's near Glenfarne village but there isn't much there - other than the Ballroom of Romance of course 😍

I checked out Glenfarne on Google maps, now it DOES boast a ballroom strangely enough, but other than that I think it'd be best described as a hamlet... and what shops?
Clancy's has a small shop. Had a post office when I was last up that way too, but with the closures of rural post offices in recent years who knows if that it still open or not.
Glenfearne is a strung along the N16 for 2 kilometres or so. It's basically a townland with a few clusters of buildings spread around
Coming from Blacklion direction you've the unfinished tiger ghost estate, followed by Clancys. Then it's half a km or so to the Rainbow Ballroom, then another KM or so brings you to the other part of Glenfearne, with has the playground and then Fee's garage. In between there's some one-off houses dotted alongside the road

I love this house, it's pricey but stunning inside and out.
Not the most energy efficient and a bit gloomy in the video, not sure if it was an overcast day or not. I still love it though, and swoon at the master bedroom with dressing room and large ensuite.
It doesn't particularly mean a pride ballroom, it was the rainbow ballroom of romance long before Pride used the symbol.

It wouldn't be though because there's no where to store anything. €950 p/m for a shoebox, you'd want to have very, very few possessions and be prepared to buy food every second day. Food that doesn't need much prep or cooking at that.
It's really only suitable for student digs during the week at a push.
True, I didn't notice the lack of bins or vacuum storage area etc.
And the student would need a car.
Nearly a grand a month for a bedroom with an ensuite at the edge of east county Galway is complete BS.....even if it is clean.
