No charges against Leo. Leaves SF in a great position if they do become lead party in Govt.
The precedent is set, no future minister will ever be charged for leaking confidential government information, they can do it with impunity
The irony of a party born of fascism with members still openly admiring blueshirts and others looking to honour the RIC/Tans, falsely using racism to distract from their **** self serving housing policy.
No surprises there then.
Open season on leaking. Just say sorry and you'll be ok.
Finally a vacant property tax is being introduced in the next budget. The minister said a few weeks ago it would be sometime in 2023. Why do you have the embarrass the coalition of chaos into action???
59000 empty properties. I imagine it's higher. What took them so long to wake up?
Boom, when on the ropes of course we need a mention of the RIC event 🤦♂️😂
Which was the previous government and nothing to do with the current one….
This is not the FG thread, although it clear a few people are totally obsessed with them. This is the government thread which they are one of three parties.
Leopards don't lose their spots...ever hear that phrase?
FF and FG were in a C&S government previously.
Unfortunately for the government, dispelling the idea that this is a country with zero accountability is going to be difficult.
Same could be said of all parties so if that’s the case
Yes a twitter parody account which describes itself as “fake news and topical satire” is the best you could find 🤦♂️😂
It seems you are questioning the Irish legal system? Anything to back up these claims?
On the ropes :)
The damage was done when Martin and Ryan let it slide. This is merely a reminder for the public.
Satire has done more to undermine arrogance and hubris than anything else. Satire sums up a cohort of thought usually.
And it is clear there are two schools of thought on how this case played out. Which one will have the most impact going forward remains to be seen, but I'll wager there isn't much change in the feelings about the power swap.
So that’s a no on anything to back up the comment? I didn’t think so
Back up what? My own opinion?
So you think the legal system is corrupt and you pick the government thread and specifically Leo case to discuss it with nothing to back it up and the “source” you provide is a fake news Twitter account
Kind of sums up the posting standard on this thread doesn’t it
Sure if nothing else fails you could always mention the RIC event
Word from different friends in the North West, charlie mcconalogue will be leaving his role as a TD before the end of next week
Popcorn time
I said nothing about corruption, I said it would be difficult for the government to dispel the idea that there is zero accountability.
If you think that idea doesn't persist you are welcome to your delusion, it's been around since I got interested in Irish politics almost 50 years ago now.
Wow thats now 2 TD's short of a majority. Popcorn time indeed.
The new Mica party is influencing things in that constituency already?
Will the Mayo TDs in Govt last long now that the Mica campaigners are totally rejecting this scheme
Seems like it, Mayo next id imagine
A Mica candidate would do well anywhere. The idea that we have regulations that we take on trust are being adhered to have been flouted and homeowners have suffered will find resonance and sympathy everywhere. The 'no accountability' syndrome again.
Especially with little or no transfers from Mica candidates going to FF or FG, it could be a fun election
Classic stuff!
Damage is well and truly done.
What?!
How many ministers for agriculture would that be??
And the FFGer insisted we needed a strong Agriculture minister post Brexit. You hardly ever hear his name.
Eh, this is not the ruling here,. Clearly you know nothing of the law and you don't know what precident means.
Any Mica candidate will bleed votes from the opposition.
Realistically the only place a Mica candidate has a realistic chance of getting elected to the Dáil is in Donegal.
They may win the odd council seat in other counties.
Precedent you mean?
On the contrary.
The legislative and judicial branches are separate. What do you want the government to do here. Send Leo off to the Joy, regardless of his guilt, to get some PR points?
Now unless you have some proof or evidence that there was some influence over the DPP's decision, then you are just a sore loser on this one. Countless hours wasted in the Leo thread for you there! Didn't you say he would be jailed?
Haha
How? Any votes FF and FG got from Mica homeowners, friends, familys will go to Mica candidates with SF and others getting transfers.
Any 1st preferences that SF and others would have got will go to Mica candidates, with SF and others getting transfers.
