It's all falling apart alarmingly fast for Boris Johnson across the water. How long you reckon he has left as British Prime Minister? Hours surely?
How many parties are they talking about now? I've lost count.

Sky news outside #10 doing a death watch. More popcorn...
Zelensky and Ukraine served as a "Squirrel!" item for Boris.
Everything he did in terms of Ukraine was in service of Boris and no one else.
What did the UK PM do when Russia invaded Georgia in 2008 or Ukraine in 2014?
Some strong potential members of a new Tory cabinet there.
I’d have the Cyberman there as Minister for Health. Voldemort for Education, and old Ming there for the new PM (He’s got leadership experience :P )
I hear he has resigned his position as johnsons bestie.
Saturday afternoon is the time he will leave. Just as soon as Carrie has removed the wallpaper and put it in her Cartier handbag.
No big news shows on a Saturday, plenty of sport to distract and so on. Unless play is interrupted with an announcement and analysis like the death of a monarch.
But really, who knows? It is riveting theatre anyway you look at it.
Exactly. Something to distract, something to try to make him look like an actual PM (instead of the bizzare thing he’s been so far), and something handy to take him out of the country on Wednesdays (What? PMQs? Sorry! Have to go to Kiev. There’s important photo ops war diplomacy to do!)
He won't go until he is forced , which I think requires the 1922 Committee to be in place, which won't be until Monday.
They then have to vote on the rule change and then put the VONC out to the party for the vote.
I reckon it could be this day week at the earliest before then can formally eject him.
Unlikely to be a Saturday because of the Sunday papers.
Though I'm personally a fan of Boris Johnson (and yes, I know he has his faults), I think it's the best thing for the Conservative Party if he departs. At present, Johnson would almost certainly lose to the Labour Party.
But by eliminating Johnson, and ensuring the right person takes over, it means that Labour can again be prevented from securing power in December 2024.
I emphasise right, because there are many figures in the Conservative Party that just would not work. Shocks me to see that Truss is one of the favorites.
As Nigel Farage argues, rather than this being a catastrophe for the Tory's, it could well become a massive opportunity.
Was always of the understanding that while the Queen could refuse certain requests from the PM, it was almost never really done as she didn't interfere, per se, in politics.
Remember when she agreed to prorogue parliament a few years ago even though everyone know it was for some shady reason of Boris's (one that escapes me at this time).
"...has his faults" has to be one of the worlds greatest understatements.
"Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?"
Is there a min amount or resignations we need to see happening?
I've not been this interested in Britain's number count since euro vision!
There's already been more resignations in a 24 hour period than has happened under any PM in history
So whatever the minimum amount is, I think they've already passed it, because anyone else as PM would have resigned before reaching these numbers.
I assume if Boris doesn't step down tonight there will be a flood of resignations in the morning.
Ms. Patel now calling for him to go.
Priti Patel (the one who would plug out your life support machine to charge her phone) calling for Johnson to go.
Truss should be soon to follow if priti evil patel is throwing in the towel
The utterly Ghastly Priti Patel now siding with cabinet members wanting Boris to go according to the times .
She turned her back on her parents working class immigrant values, why not turn her back on Boris. Finally she can stand for absolutely nothing.
Really ? He’s lucky that Nadine Dorries and JRM still support him. That’s something…
Sounds like a group that could follow the yellow brick road, maybe a wizard of oz could help them!
@Otto_English
Et tu Prite
Even the cat is calling for his resignation
Apparently it was written into the fixed term parliament act that she will decline a request to dissolve parliament from a prime minister who doesn’t not have the confidence of the government
and ultimately if he refuses to go she will have to sack him
The haunted Pencil and the empty vessel on his side - Sure he's laughing..
Yes but the fixed term parliament act was repealed.
What did anyone do? This time Boris just jumped enthusiastically on the bandwagon
