It's the usual right wing approach. Just keep throwing out any old guff. Hope some of it sticks and failing that, just cause confusion.
Its actually quite simply. Its a public platform and certain people don't like seeing criticism. We often see Facebook and twitter criticised when a government politician is being taken to task. Its going after the medium rather than the message, because often they don't want to discuss the message.
Anyone find it curious the Metro suddenly back in the news 🤔, I was laughing at the VMN report on it this evening, mentioning the promotional video they were using was years old , Leo started the conversation this morning and stumbled over costs , Eamonn Ryan jumps in this evening saying government fully committed and talked about all the Nama land they own for building houses , you couldn't actually make this up , I wonder what Darragh O Brien might have to say next about all this land available for housing .
I'd wager all these buffoons will be in retirement by the time Metro even starts .

We all know the reason. It's because the plebs can actually comment directly. That normally riles up those on top. Back in the day they could jump in a car and get away from people on the street.
You'll see the same criticism when a TV or radio interviewer is too tough on a government minister.
It's born of the 'arrogance of power' I think.

I have far too many things to be doing and really don't see the need to make up stories, unlike yourself. who obviously does.
I hate to be the one to break this to you BA, but troll accounts or not, they are part of the general population. However, you will be pleased to know that the accounts that are mainly being discussed that posted/tweeted in reply to Leo's tweet, all seem legit and not like trolls at all for the most part. I certainly didn't see any comments that would appear to make them trolls, although I will hold my hands up and admit I didn't read all of the comments. Maybe you could link to a few of them.
BA refuses to address that fact. There are very very few accounts that are bot accounts commenting on that tweet.
It's just another handy way of deflecting.
As I pointed out already, quick click on one comment, and first response was “blue shirt”….troll….
Now personally I don’t have time to review every account responding to Leo posts but the sudden change in direction to normalise the trolls online is hilarious.
In the real world, if those 3 ladies carried on like a certain group of supporters online they would be f**ked out of the shops with everyone in the shop cheering on the owner as they get thrown out
How are we normalising trolls? These are everyday people commenting on Leo's tweet. If you do know they are trolls then say so, if not then stop deflecting.
You zeroed in on one reply that suits your deflection. Simple as that. You have been told over and over the vast majority of comments are from verified accounts.

20 troll accounts were mentioned 🤔 I wager that would take some doing by one person vs Twitter. As they were verified.
If BA and others are going to claim lots of Bots and trolls replying to the Tweet under discussion, they've failed utterly to prove it , no one denied there's trolls , they are everywhere, the point made was the vast majority who responded immediately were ordinary, real people with verified accounts and very few coming to Leo's defence.
They should report the trolls. Fastest way to get rid of them.
I didn't see the 'blue shirts' comment, but if it is as BA said, in reply to a comment, then it may be name calling at best, not sure it would qualify as a troll account.

I had a look there and couldn't find the 'blueshirt' comment. Not saying it isn't there but you'd have to read an awful lot of comment from ordinary people to find it.

I'm kind of baffled that neither FF/FG have decided to make being tough on crime their "thing". It seems like a no brainer to me if I was a political party who was trying to seperate myself from the rest of the field that that would be what I would use to get votes. If anything FF/FG seem to have made being soft on crime their thing. It seems fairly universally popular among most demographics from what I've seen that the vast majority of people want to see more policing and stricter sentences.
The special criminal court and perception that SF would go easy on criminals is one of the few reasons I've seen people say that they wouldn't vote for them. FF/FG have no hope in turning it around on housing in the short term, surely if you wanted to distinguish yourself you'd go after SF in the area they're perceived to be weakest in. I can't understand why all of Irish politics recently seems to be competing for a small handful of loud people on twitter rather than the majority
A prime example of how we are inviting investors to ride the tax payer. Much thanks to FF/FG, seriously....beats building the foreva homes doesn't it just?
