I can see a gate. That's the only part of the description that I can reconcile.
Possibly also an outside loo. My family home was built in 1971 and had an outside loo as well as an inside loo.
Did you call the loo a cove?
no, weren't posh :)
Very handy as a young kid though. Didn't have to go inside so mam couldn't catch us to do things for her
Just adding some of the garden photos for posterity. The description is er um flowery 😂 to say the least.
Yes I thought an outside loo might be a possibility too. Not much of a secret!
The rear yard is a family sized space which benefits from a sunny west facing aspect. The garden also includes raised flower beds, pond detail, mature trees and hedging surround
I don't see any of those things.
What's going on with that model in pic 16?
Me neither. That's why I posted the photos.
Two absolutely stunning houses in Howth - but only if you have 4.5 or 5.5 million to spend.
Prefer the first one. Euromillions is 215M tonight. just sayin.
I think that newspaper article was about 3 different properties and the writer was not paying attention. That's not to say there was a secret cove anywhere though - the house in Bunmahon is not anywhere immediately adjacent to the sea, and while there is a 'secret cove' close by, its is in no way out the back of the house.
Given the standard of "journalism" at The Sun that is entirely possible.
I was thinking it's not mentioned in the property description on daft. But it's weird that they labeled the photo that way.
And then there's the description of the back yard in daft which bears no relation to whats actually there. It's like someone started off with a photo, made up some bullshit and then the newspaper added more.
Maybe there's pirates hidden in the outside loo in the Drumcondra house?
It must be the gap between the outside loo and shed. A hidden alcove were your garden rubbish can be hidden!
Bertie is hiding in the shed.
Because you wouldn't want to get wet if it rained?!
It's not like that awful rag is known for telling blatant lies or anything! Maybe the editors from its Sunday paper hacked a voicemail and got the description from there?
Imagine the window cleaning bill on Violet Hill!!
It's not just rain, the pool is heated and can be covered so you could use it in frosty weather without getting hypothermia.
So a coal-shed or shed is a cove. I was hoping we got to see inside it... 😄 Even though I have seen the inside of many a shed before.
Or maybe there's an old cove living in the shed. Secretly.
Was only joking 😊
Well I fell for it! 🤣🤣🤣
One of my favourite memories of living in Munich was the municipal outdoor pools, with jacuzzis, and using them in the depths of winter with the snow falling! No sliding covers there 🤣
Maybe the auctioneer was too busy for the past few months, but sure the championship is over now, so maybe be might be able to price it correctly
A small strip of beach, too small to be a beach so normally called a cove.
The decor here is a bit ...weird

I'm conflicted. I like it and I don't like it.
Sometimes I think that if you threw out all the weird furnishings it could be turned into a very nice place but then I think it's a bit dark inside in a lot of the house.
