What most ironic of the Angriest "Youngish" people on Twitter are Leo and his his closest and indeed not so closest allies and alledged friends 😁
No the Delusion is when people see what they want to see, assume its only Bots and Cranks that inhabit Twitter and Those who absolutely abhore the slightest criticism of their Darling Leo and his Party.
The delusion that Twitter pile-ons are led by normal people is one that runs strong in some.
It is kinda of indicative of how desperate they are becoming.
Keep the messaging going that it is only cranks who are complaining when anyone with eyes in their head can see that the vast majority are ordinary people.
As I said, long may it continue.
It's now abundantly clear that those referring to cranks, Boys, and angry young men replying to Leo's post on Youth employment have either not actually read the responses, understand there's a right of reponse on Twitter or are just deliberately being silly. It would also appear these folks think it abhorrent real people have to right to respond or dare I say have a differing opinion to Leo and FG, I'm sure there's a name for that 🤔🤔
Leo true out a stat that looked pretty on the surface, ignored various i factors, essentially took personal credit and others asked ligimate questions, raised very salient points and get vilified for it, My, My is that what it's come too.
There was infact quite a diverse range of folks who responded and certainly not Angry young Men, what was also intriguing, the very few coming to his defence, rather curious that's not been noticed 🙄
Some people are best friends with those angry young men on Twitter with Irish flags in their handle and think they are ordinary people.
Delightful interview with Leo on Newstalk, just wrapped up.
Summary....
Petulant child who feels hard done by, his government not understood, Electorate don't really know what their at basically, I almost, only almost felt sorry for him 🙄
No, but it'd bloody sensible to widen the existing tax base on people and use the windfall taxes from our corporate tax receipts to invest in longer term projects (like a bloody transport system for one) that makes our lives better instead of just increasing day to day expenses with it on social welfare and foreign aid.
Keep it up, the fall is coming if that is the power swap attitude. They are not going to learn by the looks of it.
So tell me what your plan? Run those companies out of ireland As some parties are keen on doing?
🤦♂️
Well done on slagging off the Irish company, as they said recently on a podcast ireland is famous for degrudgery and some fantastic displays here
'Normal people' can't be wary or critical of a dishonest person posting on twitter?
Look over there? Government thread.
That said it's were the money goes and when, that's the important thing.
they have 3bn more.
Lest we forget, IF this was to happen, let the history books tell the story, that the opposition wanted the government to spend even more money.
He got hammered again and again with ordinary people telling him there was nothing to be that positive about in the figures. That was the point I made.
Negative. He got some comments from some angry cranks on Twitter. There is a difference.
A reckless budget before the recession hits, same **** different day! Lol!
Would not put to much stock in Unicorns. They will go pop like the last bubble. but in the same fund there still down 20% on what they were.
The same investment fund that rose the price in May by 15%?
Another positive Irish success story spun to a negative for some unknown reason.
by Fidelity Investments a 24 bn investment fund. they also reduced reddit and TT iirc.
Down 35% on what? They are a private company started by 2 lads from Limerick and have now have over 7000 employees and last valued at $95 billion.
same stripe thats down by 35 per cent since January ?
Ireland is a hub, we have more companies than just US ones, including loads of Irish companies. Stripe been one of the more famous.
Not sure why “it’s hard to keep up”
Also just because we do have US companies based in ireland doesn’t mean we can’t see obvious issues with US and overseas policies.
That is fantastic news. Leo's Koolaid is working.
You don't realise how good we have it. We are third on the HDI and a seemingly decent portion of our youth that aren't in college, apprenticeships or further education etc. have part time jobs.
It doesn't actually matter that nobody can afford anything when you take those two nuggets into account.
From Jim Power
Corporation tax receipts in the first 6 months totalled €8.8 billion, which is €3 billion or 52.9 per cent higher than last year. While there are some timing issues, it continues to reflect the strong profitability of many of the multi-nationals operating in Ireland. Corporation taxes accounted for 23.8 per cent of tax revenues in the first 6 months of the year. This is the highest ever share. Is this sustainable?
At the end of 2021, the national debt stood at €236.6 billion, equivalent to 106.1 per cent of Gross National Income* (GNI*). This is equivalent to €47,250 for every person.
Ireland has a lot of debt and the money tree will need lots of fertiliser and irrigation to deliver the crop that populist politics is now dictating.
We barley make the top list. No.1 for tax dodging though.
I think you’ve been swallowing too many of Leo’s tweets
Not just that we've made recurring current expenditure decisions based on it continuing ad infinitum. The IFAC's idea of using windfall taxes to create a future war chest was sensible, which means there's zero chance of it happening
Wonder what BrokenRecord said about people who questioned an over reliance on property related taxes in 2006...........
Early budget whooooohoooo.
EDIT: got some wrong numbers.
So 2.2bn extra to help us Irish folk which will be mostly SW no doubt and 3bn (minimum, number to be more like double that in reality) for Ukranians. Class. They really spoil us.
Don't worry though when they take all the low paying minimum wage jobs their 20 euro a week tax will pay your pension after we house , give benefits, hap, rent supplements, Childrens allowance , medical and all the rest
They won't bring in no 30% tax bracket, they'll give you 50 quid on your tax credits like every year and that's it
Maybe a 0. something % on USC
****.
How anybody keeps voting for these useless pricks is beyond me.
The Chief Economist added that 53% of overall tax receipts come from just 10 firms, meaning just 10 companies account for one in every eight euros received by the State. McCarthy described this as an “incredible level of vulnerability”.
That's an incredibly dumb strategy when our tax take is that dependent.
