How many bot accounts did you count on that tweet?
If he used tiktok or something the same poster would be complaining how hes to old to be using it etc
Not at all sure what it is with this obsession with all things Bots when it's abundantly clear the majority who responded to Leo's latest pronouncement are infact verified accounts, Real people aghast at the parallel universe , Leo clearly inhabits.
It's curious this mention of Public Representatives using Social media to update, they do indeed and the vast majority of it Tripe. Hard enough to believe anything certain politicians say let alone their Tweets.
I called out an obscure Senator of a particular political persuasion recently who "updated" the few followers she has about being Gobsmacked at a 2k a head Dinner MLM would be attending, the silly Senator clearly clueless hadn't done her research, MLM is a guest speaker at an event NOT raising money for SF but an entirely different cause involving an Australian chamber of commerce.
The silly Senator was roundly ridiculed and not by Bots but ordinary people with verified accounts, embarrassed for her and sick of a policy that is clearly not working and has become quite tiresome of late.
Who said Twitter is “none relevant platform”?
Using social media to update people is standard for all public representatives
Trying to say the reactions from a load of bots accounts is a reflection of the public is not true
Very strange behaviour posting on a platform that is not relevant. Varadkar is not the only one so can someone explain why they do this?
'Bots' are people he disagrees with.
Why does Mr Varadkar use this none relevant platform ? It's confusing is he out of touch He must know he's not reaching anyone ?
Gosh, we're have you been we've missed you terribly 🤔 did the mention of Leo and Twitter recharge your energy.
Most of the responses I saw were not infact abusive at all, perhaps some sarcasm, home Truths like the Youth being able to afford homes or the Youth in low skilled, poorly paid jobs.
You talk about Bots, I personally didn't see any but also didn't see much of the usual adoration of Leo. He seems not only to be loosing his Touch politically but also on Social media. Its a tragic demise and I sympathise honestly but let's be honest, it's not before time 😉
reactions that are in line with how FG are doing in the polls. Time you started seeing the relevance.
Nice try exactly but the day anyone look at the reactions on Twitter as relevant has long long gone.
The abuse dished out online by the mob stops any interaction
I see one person did ask a clarification and was called “blueshirt”
Riddled with bots
Indeed and curiously not to many Leo supporters tweeting in his defence, last time I checked 🤔
Not hard to id bot accounts and there are very few of them on that tweet. Nice try though.
"gets hammered as the public bots point out the context"
Let me fix that for you
Odd that Mr Varadkar uses an Irrelevant platform used by cranks according the FG posters.
The mirroring of the FG twitterverse and the pro FG boardsies, who don't cotton to no twitter, is astonishing.
Lol , not quite the Reaction Leo was expecting 😅
Double payment of an ‘autumn bonus’ on the way for pensioners and social welfare recipients
Is this the kind of thing we get warned about if the opposition get in? Populist giveaways to the welfare class? Especially after less than a week ago telling us to wait 'till October?
Do FF/FG/Green just see which way the wind is blowing and act accordingly?
Touts list with no context to pat himself on the back, gets hammered as the public point out the context.
Yeah but anything any minister says can be withdrawn or watered down, if enough seats look shakey. Eamon stands for nothing really.
O dear , FG TD's picking on poor Eamonn Ryan again
A survey of any party would lead some posters to conclude that they can only think of 2-3 competent people in those parties.
I genuinely and naively thought that we already had some protection in place to stop those sort of price hikes happening on such a large scale, and so close to each other. Was quite surprised to find out that we didn't.
But we'll use tax payer money if they need a dig out.
We know about this, but while you can claim people are 'okay with Ukrainians being raped and killed' and certain parties and politicians support Putin, you can't suggest Irish politicians could be involved in this, even if you don't name any parties.
Because the anecdotes you hear about welfare are undefined, incalculable and generally made up to deflect from something else. That said, as more and more working people need state assistance to function, you might have a point.
Irish Govt: we have done all we can
Real Life: Bullshit as per usual
I wouldnt normally link such a rag but this is remarkable.
I don't honestly believe this has anything whatsoever to do with the British state pointing fingers at the Irish .
It is infact Russian Dirty Money , Funds being lodged into and Irish Bank account and Irish based Development company , Selling properties to Dubious Russians in Montenegro certainly does require scrutiny.
The story was not entirely based on the Irish connection, the Journalist (actually Irish) was following the money Trail, I saw no "Political ' dimension to this story whatsoever , infact its the last thing that crossed my mind.
To be fair, the British state media pointing the finger at Ireland re : Russian dirty money is a bit rich (pardon the pun).
Why are the BBC suddenly referring to “Ireland” when it suits them, then it is NI/UK at other times?
I’d tell them to f€&k off as well
I'm not getting into a spat and SW Bashing, there's enough threads for that but seriously to describe our SW system being overly generous is absurd, it may be adequate but not overly generous, yes a small cohort milk the system and that's disgraceful.
The harsh reality is the vast majority on a Welfare payment get the bare Minimum and are entitled to litte extra supports. Illness and Disability payments are not in the slightest bit generous and whilst many pensioners may have additional income, more don't.
The cost of living crisis is not just affecting SW recepients its affecting anyone on low incomes.
I don't pretend to have the answers but if someone is on a low fixed income, wherever that income comes from, they are in a real struggle as are higher income families with substantial mortgages, Child care, educational costs.
There currently is nowhere in legislation that entitles any one to a House, reasonable accommodation /Shelter perhaps but not a House.
